Dr. Mark Spencer Nachamie, MD

I found Dr Nachamie on the EmblemHealth doctor directory last Fall. I was thrilled to meet him at my first appt as I found him attentive, took his time, and gave me a physical exam plus sonogram of my carotid artery to check for plaque. His admin, Alice, was very cordial. I later phoned Alice for a referral to an ophthalmologist, which I was overdue to see one, and gave her weeks in advance to get this done. On the day before the appt, I find out I had none. I called her and she said the ophthalmologist doesn't take my plan. She never called me to tell me. So I asked for reference to an ophthalmologist (whose practice is in their same bldg) and a referral, again weeks in advance of the appt. On the day of the appt, I find I have none again. I called Alice and she tells me that HER doctor (Nachamie) does not accept MY plan and it was a mistake to accept me as a patient. And as a result, he can't refer me. I asked to talk to Dr Nachamie and, obviously, he did not get the message as i'm… sure she did not relay it. She knew I wanted to address the fact that she did not inform me that I did not qualify for either doctor in their plans. So, since she answers the phone, the only way to communicate to Dr Nachamie about this issue is through the internet. BTW Dr Nachamie's list of networks he accepts on the EmblemHealth plan is very outdated.

Dr. Nachamie is careful, compassionate, and knowledgeable -- a top flight physician.

Very caring and willing to spend as much time with you as necessary to answer your questions. Explains things thoroughly and will call you to follow up just to see how you're feeling. The young lady who doe the EKG & draws blood is very pleasant too. The only downside is the woman at the front desk who seems to be having a bad day everyday.

I saw Dr. Nachamie for a second opinion and to get a more in-depth overview of my heart condition. He was through, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He also didn't hesitate to respond to a follow up question I had emailed him. Highly recommended

Dr Nachamie is Soft spoken, caring , very competent. Open to seeing me even on the day I call. Highly recommended.

Saw this doctor based on a scare from a pre-surgical EKG. He has a wonderful bedside manner, is very knowledgeable and thorough. I would recommend him highly based on this experience.
