Dr. Mark E. Neahring, MD

Dr. Neahring really took time to get to know me and what was going on in my life. I liked that he was open to my ideas about what might help me feel better, and he was thorough about explaining how medications might help me.

I was really feeling off, worse than I ever remember. Dr. Neahring listened to my problems and how I was feeling, and together we developed a plan to adjust my medications. I am feeling so much better now, I never want to feel that way again before I met Dr. Neahring. I'm blessed that he was able to help me feel so much better.

He was very upfront with me about the source of my problems and how it would be best treated. I appreciate that he was honest with me about a difficult diagnosis.

He listened without a lot of interruptions. I liked that he wasn’t rigid in boxing me into a specific diagnosis.

Dr. Neahring is a straight-shooter. There was no denying I had a problem abusing my medications. Without judgement, he helped me realize what a problem it was for me, and helped get me back on track. With therapy and some medication changes, he helped me feel better so that I didn't have to abuse medications to escape my problems.

I have seen a few psychiatrists over the years and Dr. Neahring is the first one that I have recommended to other people. If you are looking for someone to coddle your emotions and cry with you, he is not your man. Still, he is friendly, focused, empathetic, and has a genuine interest in getting you back to a comfortable, personally satisfying state of mind. He has a very objective view on things without passing judgment. He listens intently and asks thoughtful questions. When I have come to him with an idea of what I would like to try as treatment, he would talk to me about the pros and cons of that option vs other things, and then we would make a decision together. He is a 2-way street and is open to suggestions based on thoughtful feedback of what he has already prescribed.

Dr. Neahring has always spent an adequate amount of time on me. I feel lucky to have found a provider who treats me like a person, not just a patient.
