I came in to the Urgent Care with a injured thumb. He never examined it or touched my hand, ordered an x-ray and then asked me if I thought it looked broken. I had to ask about ibuprofen, ligament damage, splints, icing it, etc and none of the conversations were initiated by him. I walked out knowing no more information of my injury and eventually went to Tria Orthapedic for a hand physician to actually examine me. I paid for that visit appropriately and got an MRI as suggested to rule out multiple diagnoses. I am disputing the charge for the Urgent care visit and will not return to the Bloomington urgent care. The lack of care and is not appropriate for a health professional.

Spent very little time actually discussing the reason for my visit - an injured wrist after a fall on ice-possible fracture or break. he never manipulated the wrist or even touched it at any time. He ordered X-rays to be taken but then could not even figure out how to enlarge the digital X-ray to examine for a break or fracture. Instead, I was given a referral to a Osteopath (so why did I even go to urgent card in the first place?!) I also requested an antibiotic prescription for a persistent cough-the only effort he made was to use a stethoscope through two thick layers of shorts to pretend anything could actually be heard (or not) in my lungs.I think it was also very deceptive that the clinic (Fairview health system) never stated I would NOT be seen by an MD, rather an MO and did NOT afford me the opportunity to decline the services of a DO that I would NOT opt to see, had I known that is what was being offered. I got absolutely nothing from the visit and had no confidence that… the DO knew what he was doing or what to look for. Having to pay for the cost of this visit entirely out-of-pocket, this is NOT money well spent and would recommend others consider going elsewhere for treatment and be CERTAIN to ask to be seen by an MD and not a "provider") a term I now realize was carefully used by staff rather than using the expected term, Medical Doctor.
