Dr. Mark Alan Newman, MD

Dr Newman is a rare find. He is one of the finest surgeons I have ever encountered. His bedside manner is excellent. He truly cares about his patients and it shows. I have had a number of P.T.s and Nurses who chose Dr Newman to be their surgeon. I can't say enough about this fine Dr and his team. He truly is the Best of the Best.

Dr. Newman is the best, he replaced my hip in 1997 and I have not had one problem with the hip. He replace my hip with a hip that was still under FDA studies and I was fortunate enough to receive on of the best ones at the time it was a ceramic on ceramic hip. I had 4 previous surgeries on my hip and was in constant pain. My orthopedic surgeon that I had called me about 4 or 5 days prior to my total hip replacement with him and asked me to go and see Dr. Newman. I called his office and the staff was great and said that my other surgeon had called and Dr. Newman was waiting on my call, he got me into his office the same day, and he even was able to keep my surgery on the same day which was the following Monday and he even got my other orthopedic surgeon immediate rights at Hoag so that he could assist him with the surgery and to help keep me at ease. I would recommend Dr. Newman to everyone, I'm hoping to see if my new insurance company will refer me to him so that I can have him work… on my foot and ankle.

Very GOOD DOCTOR

Ratings include appropriate care by PA David. Dr. Newman and David appear to use most current meds and tech during and and after surgery. e.g. controlling bleeding, swelling, clotting, etc. Service at state-of-art Hoag Orthopedic Institute facilities, redesigned for orthopedic surgery. Time in surgery minimized, post sgy nursing care is excellent. (Based on 2 recent separate total knee replacements, compared with 4 previous ortho sgys (Cerv, Lumbar/Sacral) by others.

Ceramic hip replacement in 2001-- not one issue.

Dr. Newman is a fine surgeon. I underwent a Total Hip Replacement 10 months ago and things went really well. Worked from home in a week, drove in 8 days, returned to the office in two weeks (with 60-mile round trip commute). No notable pain or limitations. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Newman and recommend him highly.

I've been sitting in his waiting room 1 hour and 15 minutes with no sign of being seen. Office did not notify me they were running so late. Huge waste of time.
