He doesn't care about the patients he sees. He's only interested in getting paid. He didnt help me at all.

I’ve been a patient there for years. Today I called to try and get an appointment within the next day or so because I think I have an ear infection and a sinus infection. I’ve been dealing with this for 4 days and it’s only getting worse. The nurse got on the line and said well you are just going to have to ride this one out on our own. If you aren’t better in about 5 days call us back. I called back and spoke with Mary the office manager who said what did I expect at 2pm in the afternoon. I didn’t expect to be seen the day of not calling at 2 pm... However I also didn’t expect to be told to ride it out on my own. I expected to be given the option of scheduling an appointment the following day or going to urgent care. I expected the office to at least care. I will NEVER step foot in that office again! They are done getting money off of me!

Mark Oberdoerster does not come across as caring or professional, but rude and short with you. This is not a doctor that will work with you. He basically diagnosed me without knowing all my health problems or hearing all the information. A lot didn't get talked about because I felt rushed and never had the time to communicate it. The visit felt more like I was talking to a pawn shop manager than a doctor. He prematurely leans towards issues or medical problems as being psychological and was combative and didn't really care what I had to say. He does not want to work with you, he just wants to tell you what his opinion is and that is it. I find that disturbing when I know people in my family that have been misdiagnosed from congential heart failure to Giardia (parasite) when doctors think it's psychological. I personally have had doctors jump on the psychosomatic band wagon whenever they can't figure something out only to find out they were wrong several months later. It's a… cop out to try and justify their inability or incompetence to figure a medical problem out. A doctor that believes he knows everything and believes he knows what his patients are personally physically going through, does not need to be practicing medicine. It is irresponsible. Mark Oberdoerster is NOT a doctor with compassion or understanding. He is not personable and seems to not really be concerned with what his patient has to say or what they are feeling.

We called Dr. Mark regarding complications with my mother's surgery. She has been readmitted at St. Joe's. He was extremely annoyed that we bothered him. His exact quote was, "I told your mother of the risks of the surgery. I guess it's coming true, isn't it? I'm in Maine. There is nothing I can do to help you.". My mother has been his patient for nearly 20 years.

Was not too impressed by this doctor.

Last visit I waited over an hour to see him, and spent less than 10 minutes with you assessing my needs.Doctor seems very preoccupied during consultation and does not appear to listen to my needs and want to take the time to understand what is being asked of him. Very difficult in getting someone on the phone to make an appt. Male nurse who works there less than courteous if you get him on the phone.
