Awful awful experience..money hungry only. I left there in tears..weirdo!!

I have been seeing Dr. Oberferst for about ten years. Recently at an appointment I was told I would have to pay up front as he is no longer a participating provider with my insurance company. I have never had to pay up front before and cancelled the appointment as I did not have money with me. I was billed $75 for cancelling the appointment even though I showed up on time. I was never informed of this policy prior to this appointment. Watch your wallet if you visit this practice,

I had been going to Doc Oberferst every 6 mo since 2013. In 2019 I was advised that despite of regular check ups that I suddenly have periodontal issues. I was shocked to hear this because the hygienist had always told me I did an excellent job taking care of my teeth and gums, I had only 1 cavity back in 2013 and never had gum bleeding, swelling or anything else that goes with the problem I was being told I had. I expressed concern to the dentist and even said I come twice a year to prevent this from happening how is this possible, to which he said it sometimes happens, but we will take care of you. Stupidly I agreed. I had a deep scale cleaning followed by 2 other appointments 3 mos later each time. All I can say is thank God for covid! I had to find another dentist because oberferst refused to open once dentists were allowed. I found Dr grasso who examined my teeth very closely checking xrays panorex and stated I dont know why you were told you have periodontal issues because… your gums are health no signs of disease, your pockets are normal. I asked the new dentist about a tooth oberfest said needed a crown. Grasso said definitely not, you don't need a crown on that tooth,! Why would oberfest lie to me on so many things? We are supposed to be able to trust our care providers! I won't be going back to oberfest!

This dentist is a scoundrel and his patients are nothing more than a means to profit. REFUSED a much needed denture plate UNLESS I agreed to purchase implants from a dental peer. Does not care a wit about the patients that pay his salary.
