Dr. Mark Steven Odell, MD

Does not explain everything he is testing for and does not show or explain results to patients. Becomes very agitated if you ask questions about his diagnosis or plan of treatment. Will not go into detail or they may be able to identify me as a patient. Would not recommend him except maybe for small children.

Being new in town my husband decided to try this doctor. The first visit seemed a little off, but he decided to try him again when he found out that he had high cholesterol. He needed to go in for a regular yearly checkup anyway, so we thought we would have him re-check the blood work again to make sure. Dr. Odell did not even perform a physical on him even though he was there for one along with checking cholesterol. He immediately wanted to put him on drugs, but we wanted to try and change diet, take more fish oil, and take another type of all-natural pill that has helped others. Dr. Odell then said in 6 months to go to the lab and he would have his cholesterol checked again to see if there had been progress and if we do need to go on medication. At the time of the next blood check they took 5 vials of blood and was told the doctor also wanted to run a liver test (he did have a enzyme that was slightly elevated). My husband thought it was weird, but had them take it. For the… next week we heard nothing form the doctors office. He had to call and ask. They finally got back to him and said that he ran a myriad of tests, but not for cholesterol. Dr. Odell did not discuss any of these extra tests with him and did not even check what he came in for. We are VERY unhappy with this doctor and would advise to go to another doctor. We certainly will never go back to him again. I can't imagine what they will try and charge for this visit; not to mention we still have to get my husbands cholesterol checked.
