had extreme issues with a kidney stone last summer. had moved from northern virginia and needed to change doctors. Dr. Passarella did all that was needed, including the surgical procedure at Martha Jefferson hospital. great care

Dr. Passarella was wonderful. He listened to all of my concerns, and I felt comfortable with his treatment plan. He answered all my questions thoroughly and spent a good amount of time with me during my appointment. I would highly recommend him for treatment of kidney stones.

Because of incorrect diagnostic our daughter ended up having a serious surgery which could have been prevented.

Dr. Passarella is technically good, but I would recommend him only to those who want to have a doctor make their health care decisions for them. I told him I had read the American Urological Association Best Practices Statement and the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force recommendation for prostate cancer testing and wanted to discuss the alternatives. He quickly launched into an attack on the USPSTF and called them criminal. He pointed out a few, but not all, downsides to the testing. He strongly suggested continuing the PSA and digital testing every 3 months even though I have a low PSA score and minor enlargement. I honestly think he puts his economic well being ahead of my medical well being, so I will find another objective urologist.
