Dr. Mark Nathan Porway, MD

I have been a patient for 10 years. I have received services at 3 locations during that time. Staff was over all good. Never rude or I would speak up. Lab personnel excellent. Some of the lead nurses have been shot bags. General office staff fine. If you call several times get in your car and go there. They have an office manager that will facilitate a resolve. . Dr. Porway is highly intelligent listens to everything. Write all questions down before you go.

My review is not a review of Dr. Porway, whom I have seen only once. I liked him very much personally. But this review is more geared towards his office. My experience? On Monday this week, I called my pharmacy to refill my prescription for the blood-pressure medicine Valsartan. The pharmacy informed me that particular med had been recalled, and that I should call Dr. Porway's office. Which I did. I was told I would get a call-back. After several hours I called again. I was again told I would receive a call-back. No call-back came on Monday. On Tuesday I called again, mentioning that this was my third call, and that I am now out of this medicine. Woman apologized and told me I'd receive a call-back. After half a day, I called the pharmacist again to speak of my dilemma, and they told me they would try to fax Porway's office with the request. Nothing further was heard from that day. Today, Wednesday, I called Dr. Porway's office again and got an answering service… (at 9:30 in the morning! Odd.) The attendant told me someone would call me back. I mentioned that this was my fourth call. No one called. I called the pharmacy again, and they told me that Dr. Porway's office had a reputation for not returning calls. After an hour or so, I called the Dr.'s office again. The answering service told me rudely "I said someone will call you." Then hung up on me! I called my primary care physician's office to ask what I should do. They called me back in 10 minutes with a new prescription. As I mentioned, I happen to like Dr. Porway. I would give him 4 stars. But his office practices are worse than awful. I would give them 0 stars. Especially for the rude answering service. On average, 2 stars. That's being kind.

Caring person and outcome oriented

Dr Porway is a very educated caring doctor. He put me a total ease wiht his manner of taking command of the situation and his caring about you and your problem.

I have seen Dr. Porway for over four years, beginning with a catheterization (results shocked everyone, including him). He immediately arranged for the surgery that ensued and a topnotch surgeon. I don't believe I would be alive today if not for his expertise, his caring and his dedication to his patients and profession. He has the best humor of any doctor I have had and I have complete trust in his care for me and his recommendations and medical advice
