I am a nurse at a large hospital in Cincinnati. My 87 y.o. mother went to Clermont Mercy with emergent small bowel obstruction. She also has other health issues and her age that contributed to the seriousness of the situation. I had not met Dr.Poynter before. He was extremely understanding, answered all questions, and honest about possible outcomes ( good and bad), The anesthesiologist also reassured my family that he was an excellent surgeon. My mother came through the surgery in great condition. Dr.Poynter also inserted pain catheters in her abdominal incision and she is 1 day post-op telling us she has no pain. I have another family member that needs attention and I will be referring them to Dr.Poynter.

I was so overly impressed with Dr. Poynter. He took time to explain my condition and the different routes we could take. He never once rushed me and made me feel like I was the only patient there. I would recommend him to anyone!
