Dr. Mark Jeffrey Raden, MD

Dr. Raden graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and then went on to complete a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). After additional fellowship training in Neuroradiology at Montefiore Medical Center, he went on to subspecialize and receive added qualifications in Neuroradiology, and Vascular & Interventional Radiology (VIR). He joined the department in 1996.

He has previously served as section chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, also known as Image-Guided Surgery, a subspecialty of radiology in which minimally invasive procedures are performed using image guidance. The field encompasses performing procedures such as biopsies or angiograms by minimizing physical trauma to the patient through peripheral interventional techniques.

As Section Chief of Neuroradiology, a subspecialty dealing with imaging of the brain, spine, head and neck, Dr. Raden works in close collaboration with …local neurologists, neurosurgeons and ENT specialists to provide the best possible care to his patients. He runs the Neuroradiology teaching section at Staten Island University Hospital and gives numerous lectures and multidisciplinary conferences to his colleagues and resident trainees.

He is currently the Chairman of the Department and is the Medical Director of Verrazano Radiology.

Active in the local community, Dr. Raden, his wife and four children are long time Staten Islanders. He has an active interest in the health care of the local community that he lives in and serves, and looks forward to hearing about any of his patient’s concerns.
