Dr. Mark Alan Regnier, MD

Hello! This is Dr. Mark. I don't have a log in for this site, so I'm posting this as a review in response to a couple of the reviews I've seen. While not making reference to a specific situation, I want to address the negative-type reviews on this site. My wife is our practice administrator. She is trained in healthcare administration and is a qualified health care professional in her own right. She cares deeply about quality healthcare and about the families we serve as a practice. In the practice of medicine, like other "businesses", there will be times when the "business" of medicine must be addressed. In order for me to be available to care for our patients, she and our office staff address the business issues for me. All practice policies have been developed in order to help us remain available to serve our patients and families. These have been developed by our practice as a whole and are left to our office staff to apply and implement. She and all staff members address each… situation with kindness and respect, but difficult discussions sometimes must be had so the physicians of this practice can see the patients in the very way you enjoy. We appreciate each and every patient and family in this practice. I (Dr. Mark) focus on seeing patients. Other matters remain for the office staff to handle, but I support them fully in the work they do. We have been told by external healthcare reviewers with knowledge of our practices, policies and procedures that we treat our families with more kindness and compassion than the other practices they review. Followed Dr. Mark when he left STC because he's THAT good. Literally drove 45 minutes just to have my kids see him. LOVE his bedside manner, he's an excellent physician and goes the extra mile for his patients EVERY time. However, left the practice when they instituted the "no back to back appointments for siblings" rule for regular yearly check ups. Makes ZERO sense. I explained we drive over 45 minutes to get there so I wanted my boys to have appointment times back to back so I didn't have to come out twice. Was told no, they don't do that anymore and was EXTREMELY rude about it. Then when I told her we would be forced to change doctors she said, ummm okay and then continued to call me to make appointments for them. Sorry Dr. Mark, we adore you, but your office staff (I believe I spoke with your wife) was beyond rude and dismissive.

Although dr regnier is an extremely good doctor the wait time in the office usually exceeds a hour wait. The nurses are friendly but his wife who works there is very rude and egocentric. The office could definitely do without her. Being in such a small community I think her personality may end up being the demise of this office. As i have heard from many patients the same complaint about her.

Dr. Regnier (Dr. Mark) has an amazing bedside manner. He educated my 13 year old daughter all about concussions and all the things that she should be aware of. He spent so much time! We all felt confident that an MRI was not necessary for her after his incredibly thorough exam, which saved us time, worry and $$. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a pediatrician. Everyone in the office was incredibly caring and helpful both in person and over the phone. Also, he made room for us at the end of a very busy day for him. Thank you Dr. Regnier! I feel so reassured and confident now that my daughter is on the road to recovery.

Dr. Mark is the best! He is outstanding with patient and parent report no matter the age of the child. He is thorough in his exams!! Excellent Doctor! Cannot recommend more highly!

Has been my children's pediatrician since birth..going on 11 years for my oldest. Wonderful bedside manner. I'd have him for my doctor if I could!

Dr. Mark is truly amazing. He took so much time to explain everything during our visit. He engaged our baby's older sister and put us all at ease. We will never go anywhere else!! Thanks Dr. Mark for all you do.

Dr. Mark is the most caring doctor I have ever known. He will never make you feel rushed and puts the patient first. He is amazing!

Our relationship with Dr. Regnier began the day he came and discharged my first born son form the hospital. He is now almost 12. Over the years we have been through well child care checks and many sick calls. He always takes the time to explain and offers time for you to question. You can tell he really cares about his patients going above and beyond when dealing with specialists the kids may need. We hope it won't be too much longer before his new office open in Sycamore. Thanks for all you done and here to looking to the future.

Dr. Mark is an amazing dr. He goes out of his way for his patients, takes time to explain things to the patient AND the parents. He truly cares and is a wonderful example of what medicine should be about, the patient.
