Dr. Mark D Rodefeld, MD

Kind, caring, extremely patient and family oriented. Dr. R. answered all our questions and waited to be sure we were comfortable. It was an extremely pleasant experience at a very hard time for the family. As stated by many others, he is a voice of calm and assurance. He supported the family all the way through the course of my grandson, Gavi's, procedure and recovery. We are very grateful for this special person.

Dr. Rodefeld performed my daughters very complex OHS with aortic and mitral valve repairs due to her Shones Compex. She ended up needing ECMO for about a week and then a melody valve placed in the mitral position. He is calm but caring. He listens to his patients (or their parents) and I left knowing that he truly cares about our whole family. I knew that he would make the best decisions for my daughter before, during, and after her surgeries. He stops in to check on us anytime we're up at Riley. I will forever be greatful for the work he did on my little girl and I hope he will be the surgeon on any further interventions she needs.

Dr. Rodefeld has done my son's two heart surgeries. My son's first heart surgery was when he was 2 months old and his second was open heart surgery when my son was 2 years old. My son is doing very well and has 100% recovered with no restrictions! Praise God! Dr. Rodefled has the best personality for this profession! He is extremely calm natured and an excellent communicator. He can explain very medically complex details in laymen's terms and he also has a high EQ to sympathize with parents struggling with the very emotional process of pediatric heart surgery. And all of this while being extremely humble which is extremely rare for talented surgeons that usually have a god complex. I would recommend Dr. Rodefeld to absolutely anyone. Thank you again Dr. Rodefeld. We could never repay you for the gift of a healthy life you gave our son. We are so thankfully God has chosen to work through you to bless so many children and their families.

Dr. Rodefeld operated on my grandson at just 27 weeks old. Micropremie. He took the time before procedure and after to answer all of our questions. His kindness is overwhelming. His manner put us at ease during a very stressful time. I can't praise him enough. Rowan will have a better life from Dr. Rodefeld

I could never say enough good things about Dr. Rodefeld. He performed 3 open heart surgeries on my daughter. She is alive and well thanks to him. He is a wonderful man. He always made is feel comfortable and he always made us feel like we was his only patient.

Dr Rodefeld ,I an amazing man and Doctor. My little gir had to have asd repair done. He made her feel so comfortable and took his time explaining the procedure before and after. He has a way with his patients I cannot explain in words. But let me tell you this ,he is very in tune with his patients and has a real passion for what he does! Dr. Rodefeld has the up most respect for his patients he answered every question I had and was not rushing me out at all. He did my sons heart surgery and was excellent. He has the best bed side manner.
