Dr. Mark James Saxon, DO

I had seen a NP, David there a few times-- in 2022 & 2023. I called today to schedule an appointment and was told my chart would need to be reviewed and a decision made. A couple hours later I received a voice memo stating Dr. SAXON declined me to return. I called back and asked if there was a reason. No reason was stated. That's just their policy. As someone who needs either a new medication for severe depression or some intense therapy, this practice of making a decision with no reasoning is uncalled for and unprofessional. I am in the health care field myself and I've never heard of such a thing! Especially in the delicate field of mental health! I went through my phone, found the confirming texts from their office. Nothing more. Never no showed. And cancelled my last appointment that was scheduled with ample time to spare!

I cannot understand these bad reviews. i have been a patient for 7 years, seeing Marc Kovalchik. i love Marc! he listens to me talk. the meds he prescribed have made a difference in my life. the office staff are always helpful even though they are very busy. i have never had any problems with this service. i see Mark Saxon only once a year to check on if i am satisfied with the service i am receiving. he is warm and caring. i have nothing but good things to say about this office. do not let the bad reviews steer you away from this service....they are top notch.

One appointment in a twelve month period, actually with Dr Saxon. Beyond difficult staff for prescription refills. Front Receptionist expects patients to handle authorizations for meds, argumentative, rude, and told me she hoped I complained to Kasey and Dr Saxon. Put a call in to Kasey, no response. What a caring staff. Do they realize they are treating people for mental health issues. I should have listened to word of mouth, do not go to Saxons office. Live and learn. Time to move on from lousy health care.

I am a new patient of Dr. Saxon’s . I had to fill out medical release forms from previous doctors because I have moved so they can retrieve my medical records for treatment that was over a month ago they still haven’t received my medical records . they are blaming the doctors where they sent my release because they didn’t send the proper forms for my medical information to be released . They told me to call to do it myself. For one thing that is not my job it’s theirs and doctors get medical information on patients all the time but this time they can’t . Also wanted to push meds on me without my medical records but don’t want to treat my anxiety that I have suffered with for years. They said they wouldn’t prescribe my anxiety medication anymore. I spoke with the assistant that the doctor refused to treat my anxiety , and was given no reason for the refusal . this is very disturbing to me . I could have a panic attack without my medicine and end up in the hospital . this is what you get… for seeking treatment. They don’t even have have my medical records so they say. they are blaming others because they don’t have the right release forms . so yes I will find another doctor . I can’t believe my new family physician recommended you as ethical responsible professional in the medical field . I am appalled and your assistant psychologist which I guess he was he never stated was telling me about his personal life his daughter having COVID , and speaking of protests , and stuff . I just want treatment and my medicine and from the doctor not an assistant . This is more than unprofessional and incompetent . To me this is negligent and someone should look in to your practice. I will be reporting you to every medical authority and board I can. this is not how patients not me or any future patient should be treated. this is wrong and this is something I am going to do something about . my voice will be heard so others don’t get treated like I did. You are doing harm not good . Your a doctor . Aren’t doctors supposed to help and not hurt their patients. oh and another thing isn’t the doctor supposed to call the patient and inform the patient about treatment and reasons for not giving treatment . I don’t know what to say so unprofessional I am appalled to say the least !!!!!!

I have been a patient for almost 20 years. He takes his time and actually cares about you as a person. I have had one hiccup with the practice. Nurse practitioner Marc told me I do not have PTSD even after I was diagnosed by a psychologist. I will never see him again. Casey the pa is wonderful! She gets back to you fast. Office staff are a delight

Did not see Doctor but a PA at same rate as the Doctor - $185.00 which they did not tell us was NOT covered by our insurance!! The PA proceeded to do HUGGING meditations with me and humming and told me to listen to many CDs. Absolutely the worst psychiatric appt I have EVER had!! And I have been seeing a psych doc for 25 yrs. They are awful!!

I was referred to Dr.Saxon’s office to discuss change of ADD medication. I needed to have the TOVA test done and a report completed by a psychologist before I could have the appointment. My appointment was with the Clinical Nurse Specialist, Marc Kovalchik. He was extremely unprofessional. He didn’t read the report I was required to have sent over, nor did he even have it with him. He said that the front desk would find it and he would look at it after the appointment. I wasn’t sure why they needed this expensive report if he wasn’t even going to read it. He asked me questions that were clearly covered on the report so I emailed the report from my personal email since they couldn’t find it. The front desk printed it and he skimmed over it while I was sitting there. He answered his personal cell phone during the first 5 minutes of our session without saying, “excuse me” or apologizing. He kept his phone volume on loud and the phone interrupted again. He did not immediately silence it.… He looked at it for a while and then turned it off. He asked questions I had already answered and when I said “I already told you that” he responded “oh I must not have heard it”. The psychiatrist I had previously seen was out of town so they wrote a note to my primary care doctor and he continued to prescribe the medication. When Marc told me I needed to give a week’s notice to refill prescriptions I told him that my primary doctor could do it since that’s how it has been done in the past. I asked what I should do if I had issues with this medication. What would the protocol be if I felt it wasn’t working? His response was that I should go back to my primary care doctor because he wasn’t going to prescribe me anything if I wasn’t going to see him. I had never said I wouldn’t come back, I was only saying that I could have the prescription filled by my primary doctor like I had done before. Then he proceeded to tell me that it didn’t matter to them if I came back or not. They have plenty of patients and they will survive without me. I wish I were exaggerating. I am so disgusted with this office.

Have been on meds for a month now and worse than I was when I went to see him. He told me that meds would work in three weeks. My visit was no longer than a half hour and he didn't ask me any personal questions just told me what meds he was going to give me and why. Look elsewhere if you have depression or anxiety issues, do not go to Saxon.

Patient for over 10+ years. In the beginning he was good. Now he has "grown" his practice and you get 15 minutes per appointment. If you are looking for a quick in and out get some meds, he is your guy. If you actually want help, go elsewhere.

I told his nurse what medications I could and could not take and that I didn't want any antidepressants and according to my Pharmacy he did indeed give me an antidepressant and another drug that made me sick on the way home and the Pharmacy said I should stop taking it ASAP. BAD EXPERIENCE!!!!! and I went there for Lack of sleep and my Sons death (grieving)
