Dr. Mark William Schaar

I love Dr. Schaar. Very caring and thorough M.D. He is scary hard to schedule appointments, though. I really wish these reviews would separate the doctors from the staff, because the receptionist is extraordinarly rude. Clearly not suited to be in this line of work. I actually asked her what I had done to offend her once. So the overall rating is for the doctor alone.

Dr Schaar seems to be a good Dr. I have seen him for over ten years.Staff never was courteous that I ever seen. Not only to myself but to other patience. Appointments not correct, refills took forever if at all. No follows ups after visits. difficult to get an appointment when ill. Told to always call back the next day at 8am to see if any available when was not.

Dr. Schaar is by far the best doctor I have ever had. He is wonderful, I honestly can not say enough great things about him. He answers every question in detail, he makes sure to follow up and never rushes your appointment. That is why you may wait a while in the waiting room, he gives personal attention to everyone. I had a few medical problems that required a number of visits and it was really stressful working around my schedule. He offered to meet outside of his normal hours in order to see me. The other doctors practicing in his office are good and can usually get you in right away, so if it's strep or something minor I will go to them. You usually have to schedule in advance to see Dr. Schaar, but it's totally worth it!!!

I moved away from the Lansing area, but I continue to drive an hour each way to see Dr. Schaar. He never rushes me through the office, he always treats me like a friend, and he does not talk down to me. He seems like a genuinely good guy, and he has a great bedside manner. It's not easy to find a doctor that you can trust. That's why I continue to see him despite the location being very inconvenient for me.

Its getting next to impossible to get an appointment to see him. Every time I call for someone in my family I am told they are scheduling 2-3 weeks out! Once for a follow up appt. from the ER I was told I had to wait for a month to get in, didn't even bother to make the appt.

I've never had a doctor listen like Dr. Schaar. I felt like he considered everything I told him. I have seen many doctors that seem to be dismissive. Also, he treats you like you're the most important patient and will spend all day working on you if necessary.
