Dr. Mark Smith Schroeder

I was on short term disability for loss of appetite, shortness of breath, panic attacks and depression due to my job. I went to see my physician who prescribed me an antidepressant and suggested that I see a psychiatrist . I did and she suggested that I take some time off. Board Certified Psychiatrist Mark Schroeder M.D. declined my short term disability claim stating that I wasn't impaired enough to not be able to do my job. This caused me to miss out on a month of pay. So his opinion is that I was impaired enough to be medicated but not impaired enough for me to be paid while I was out. I’ve never been on medicine . So I wanted to make sure I would adjust to the medication well especially since the side effects were hallucinations, loss of reality, suicidal thoughts. Impairment is defined as the state or fact of being impaired on google. Impaired is defined as weakened or damaged or having a disability of a specified kind. Depression . Panic Attacks . Loss of Appetite fit the… bill. Not sure what the bias is but had to share my story . Wouldn't want anyone to go through what I did .
