Dr. Mark Schwei, MD

I was electrocuted to the point I defecated on myself for the first ECT treatment he backed. Drugged to the point of no return on heavy anti-psychotics, combinations of them, at high, high doses. With mood stabilizers in the mix. Antidepressants. Everything. Like a chemical cocktail. Order on up everybody what is it tonight, Zyprexa? Seroquel? Risperidone? Does not practice general empathy or awareness for children or humans in general. It's a shame, he is very intelligent and could have done a lot to actually help, and benefit children and people in society. It's shame it's come to electrocuting and frying children's minds and bodies. There's a lot of parallels of him and the doctor on American Horror Story, and just the psychiatric system in general. It is sick that we are drugging and justifying electrocuting human beings. Young human beings who are not in a state to advocate for themselves and their lives long-term; the future of their lives. These medications and treatments are… horrible. We need more community support. Not drugs. Your Psychiatrist is more dangerous than your average drug dealer on the street. Horrific experience! Dr Mark Schwei should not be working with children PERIOD! I am so mad that my poor son, who was already depressed, left feeling worse instead of better. We waited for 2 1/2 months for this appointment, filled out five hours worth of extensive paperwork, and he was anything BUT understanding and kind. He was emotionally abusive! He made my son so nervous and got mad at him when he answered a question and then changed his answer and Dr Schwei let out a long, hard, disgusted sigh. My 11 year old son had a hard time explaining something and he said, “I don’t understand what you mean by that, you are an artist, so paint me a picture in words. My fifth grader had no idea how to answer him and the doc wouldn’t help him in any way to try and understand. His office was a maze to get to and he told my son he better figure out how to get to his office because he would need to bring his mom back. He made my son lead me back to his maze, while he walked behind me. When… we left, my son told me when he went back to his office to talk first with him, the doc told him to pay attention where to go because you will have to find it on your way back to get your mom. My son said he'd go one way and the doc would say, NO. Then he'd try another and he said, No and then he tried another and he said good job. Why in the world would you put pressure on a child that way on the very first appointment???The first thing the doc says to me was that my son said I was a homemaker, then says,.... did you do ANYTHING else before?!! I felt like he was shaming me for not working and I thought that was strange. He made my son leave the room while we talked and when we came out, my son was standing up and the doc said, WHY ARE YOU STANDING UP?!! My son said he heard us coming. Then the doc said, WERE YOU LISTENING ???? BY THE DOOR TO HEAR WHAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT???? He said no, and then the doc said, well ... I would have. The doc asked me if there was one thing he could do to help. I’m NOT SURE WHY HE ASKED ME since I filled out 40 papers worth of questions that clearly stated what we needed. But I told him we needed help with the significant weight he gained on Prozac. He then told me Prozac does not cause weight gain. (Anyone can google and find that Prozac is notorious for weight gain) I told him I didn’t think he COULD help me if he believes that because I've seen many people gain weight on Prozac. The office staff looked miserable and didn’t smile once. We felt less than welcome. I was having anxiety while my son met in a room alone with Dr Mark Schwei, and after hearing what happened when my son and I were driving home and after meeting him myself and talking to him, it all made sense. My mom alarm was going off that he was not good for him. When I called in to make an appt with this place, the intake nurse was great and told me she would match me with the perfect psychiatrist to best help my son. I was thrilled to hear that but was extremely disappointed when I met with him and saw what a terrible doctor he was in every way. It’s a disgrace to the Primary Children’s good name to have this doctor associated with them. I hope and pray NO OTHER CHILD will have him as their psychiatrist.

The worst medical experience in my life. He does not stick to any science in his diagnosis or treatment. He uses his degree as a weapon against patients. Not sure really what his problem is. He does like to experiment with different drug combinations.

Dr. Schwei really seems to know what he is doing. He was able to find the right combination of meds for my son, and has been available when we've needed him.

I saw Dr. Schwei five years ago for depression and anxiety. He changed the antidepressany I was on every two weeks. This confused the chemicals in my body and I ended up in the hospital suicidal.

While he is perfectly objective, he severely lacks in bedside mannerisms and sympathy, which makes him a horrible psychiatrist.
