My kid came in and he was rude. He wanted me to pay before he looked at my kid. Would not bill my insurance 1st. Cannot understand his English very well.

Came for a workman comp injury. Dr. Mark Shafik is not a doctor who cares for the patient. He is working for the business that pays Care now for workmans comp. He makes makes you believe that what he is telling you is for your benefit but really he is just screwing you over. He's the managing director for the fossil creek location. Don't go to this guy. He is the worse "doctor" they have there. Do not trust him!!

i saw my regular doctor because of my chest pain, because i was young he said it was anxiety. went to care now and saw dr shafik. he found through exam and xray that i had air leaking throug my chest. sent me to er and i was admiited for something called pnumothorx. great place and will go back.

I had an injury at work and was forced to choose a doc from the WC network. Went to the Carenow and got Dr Shafik. He took very little time with me, in a hurry, and didn't reflect all of my complaints in his paperwork...made it look like less happened than did. Didn't want to consider my unique medical history/issues in determining what was needed, nor unique needs of the job in determining what restrictions to put in place.

I came for some personal testing to be done. He was very nice and considerate of my situation. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything. I will definetly see him again.

Great doctor. He helped me with my illness and explained everything to me where i can understand. I hope he stays with carenow as my personal physician. very nice staff as well.

He is now practicing at the CareNow in Denton Texas.My rating is based on four visits for me and two for my daughter over the last year and a half. Reasons for my rating: Dr Shafik applies a cookie-cutter approach to medicine; you either have flu, cold, or sinus infection and if it's none of the above, they send you home with a prescription for Amoxicillin. (reminds me of my days in the military where everything was treated with 800mg of Motrin)
