I can’t believe this dude is allowed to be around children.

After jumping through hoops with my insurance, I find out that my daughter is covered For a small portion of the amount left over after my primary insurance was billed. Secondary is title 19. I also was not made aware of any of it by the office! When my DD went for the consultation and cleaning the office sent all the paperwork out and told me it could be up to a month to Hear anything. Curious after 2 months. I called and that’s how I found out we were approved! Ok fast forward.. my dd gets spacers in to pep her teeth for the brackets.. they need to be done within a certain time period of the spacers. They also states they needed the balance paid in full that was not covered under neither ins. Like $450... the day comes and it so happens that my checking account is showing less $$ because an unauthorized payment had debited!! We we there in the office early with my snotty crabby 2 yr old as well... I’m mortified and apologize still able to pay $250 now and in 2 weeks (payday) I… can pay the rest of the $200. NOPE this Dr. is so greedy it had to be all or nothing. Mind u we would have been in monthly for tightening and Check ups so If he thought we wouldn’t pay the rest just blows me away lol... ANYWAY... we need to come back when we can pay in full...I kindly asked if I could still pay $250 now with no services rendered today and in 2 weeks at the rescheduled appointment the remaining $200 will be paid. They had no prob with that. It was not my fault with the error in my bank, just bad luck and happened to be around the time money was a little tight.... so we rescheduled and to be safe made it a few Days after payday so I could withdraw the cash or call to pay over the phone 2 days prior so it would be taken care of... I decided to call.. Lo and behold the receptionist tells me Dr. Mark is no longer taking ortho patients and will be sending us out to some referrals!!!! Then I had to Come in and get my $250 refund...and since They ran my insurance and was approved for the full amount $5,400 (GEHA) + $1200 (medicaid) it took FOREVER to get the authorization approved for the next ortho with my private insurance ...Not to mention medicaid wouldn’t even look at the 2nd consultation from my Daughters current Ortho since they approved the prior authorization from Mark Shaw’s office they assumed it was all done since it showed marks office was pending Payment!!! What a pain in the butt. Oh and while I’m here I may also add my then 2 yr old daughter had her teeth “cleaning” if you call having her lay back with her head in his lap sitting on my lap while he talked to me the whole time and looked in her mouth by lifting her lip a bit and setting down, “yup everything looks good” I had a question about a brown spot on her front top left tooth I feared was the beginning of a cavity...he disregarded my concern told me it was a milk (calcium) spot. Nope it turned out to be just what I thought! Lastly (I promise) this was all around the time they were moving locations so my initial visits were on Wisconsin Ave.. when I came for the appointment that needed to be rescheduled I was 10 minutes late googling their new location on EverGreen. Waste of time, gas, money, trust and a good chunk of insurance coverage! Plus both kids were in pain from poor practice. My 2 yr old is traumatized since it wasn’t caught at the time and my 12 yr old said the spacers and the goopy purple impression process hurt and more annoying than the braces she currently has on now from a wonderful office in Green Bay
