Dr. Mark Devin Shepherd, MD

This guy is a pompous jerk! I came in on a referral with lab work and a diagnosis. He mentioned that he loved when he got referrals where they had done all the work. After explaining the diagnosis (that was handed to him on a platter by my Dr) and adding an additional possible diagnosis (to his resident not to me) he said there was a test for this, but eh not necessary. He then told me there was no treatment other than to treat the most insignificant of my symptoms. When I asked about a treatment I had not only read about on multiple forums, but one that he mentioned and that a friend of mine had been on for the same thing, he got defensive and said that it wasn't used to treat my issue. He was very dismissive and condescending saying there's no magic pill. I said, so I'm back to square one? I started to cry and his response was "we could do this all day, but I don't have time!" When I got to the desk in tears, the girl went to schedule my follow up and I told her I wouldn't be back… to see him. I explained what happened. She didn't seemed shocked and offered to make my appointment with another Dr in the office that was very thourough and would make sure I was taken care of. I agreed, but I still called my referring Dr to see what other options I had. I do not suggest this Dr if you have any desire to find a solution to your health issues. We will see what happens if I do in fact see the other Dr in the office.

We have had 2 instances where my son was in extreme pain and the pediatrician told us to have him checked out by the endocrinologist. We called and were told to come in the next morning. When we got there nobody - not even the doctor - would see my son! He ended up in the hospital. We saw the doctor on our very first visit years ago and have not been able to see him again, even with extreme medical conditions. I do not recommend this doctor. The first time, my son's endocrinologist closed her office to go into research. His file was referred over to Dr. Shepherd. We could not get an appt for over 4 months. His insulin prescription ran out and Dr. Shepherd, having the files from the other doctor - knowing that she closed her practice - would not see him until his appt or prescribe insulin. We were told to get another doctor to order the insulin.

The rudest front deak staff I have ever encountered anywhere.
