Dr. Mark George Shrime

I saw Dr. Shrime sometime ago for a palatal mass. I had never had anything like this before, I'm relatively young, and I was pretty nervous about the whole thing. Dr. Shrime did a wonderful job of putting me at ease, and when we went to surgery to have it excised I felt comfortable knowing that I was in his hands. Dr. Shrime was also great with follow up, it was obvious that patients truly are his top priority.No one wants to find themselves with something like a palatal mass (it was thankfully benign), but if you ever do I highly recommend Dr. Shrime.

My dad is a minimizer. He had a growth on his tongue that he had been ignoring. I was finally able to convince him to go have it checked out. Dr. Shrime was the perfect doctor to see. He was very direct, but caring, and I could tell that being honest and up front about the risks and benefits of surgery was important to Dr. Shrime. He doesn't sugarcoat anything, but I preferred he was direct, and so did my Dad. My Dad is scheduled for surgery with Dr. Shrime, and I have no worries.

told me there was an 80% chance i had lymphoma and i needed my tonsils out. i was about to have the surgery when i LUCKILY got a 2nd opinion at a REAL hospital - ma eye and ear. they told me i don't need my tonsils out and there is less than 1% i have anything serious like lymphoma. clearly the health coverage system in the US is making these perverse incentives work for some doctors who want to be paid by backing procedures you don't need. BMC is a terrible hospital for people without insurance.
