Dr. Mark Charles Steckel, MD

My 2 year old failed his iscreen vision test. The receptionist was rude upon finding out my son had husky. She spoke condescendingly to me and said that they only take husky on a case by case basis. Is a failed iscreen vision test not a case? Even so- I have husky but I am not stupid. If she can't be bothered to talk to people like if they are people, she shouldn't be answering phones.

I had an appointment today for my Grandson. After waiting for 1 1/2 hour and seeing people going in and out that had come after me I question the receptionist. They took me in and put us in this room that looked like a closet. We were there for another 15 mins. Them we were put in to exam room and waiting some more. Dr. Still seeing patients that came in after us. After almost 20 mins of waiting again and started to walk out and the receptionist told me the dr. Was in the bathroom. No he was seeing a patient that came in 1 hour after I did. I guess since I was not a Fairfield resident and my child has Husky we were not that important.

I am new to the area and was referred to Dr. Steckel. My 11 year old was in pain with something in her eye. They were unable to fit her I and when I asked for a referral due to the emergency they said they do not refer.

Dr. Steckel is an extremely knowledgeable, meticulous, and thorough ophthalmologist. He also is patient, caring, and has a real sense of humor. The wait is typically less than ten minutes before the doctor comes in for the exam.

I had a wonderful experience at Dr. Steckel's office. The receptionist was plesant and cheerful. I was seen after waiting only 5 minutes. Dr. Steckel was friendly, and most importantly was super good with my 7 month old son! He was also very methodical and thorough with the eye exam. I would reccomend anyone to see him.
