Dr. Mark Alan Steenbergen, DO

Everyone in the practice is extremely caring and always give all the time needed.

I am 82 years old. I have been going to Dr. Steenbergen for 18yrs., ever since he arrived in the Poughkeepsie area. Of all the years I have been going to doctors, (all kinds), he is by far beyond doubt the very best, He is always pleasant. Always greets you with a smile and a handshake. He listens carefully to what you have to say. He examines your situation mindfully and chooses the best way to treat your situation. I have never been disappointed in him. Hi office staff is pleasant and friendly and always greets me when I arrive. They are also very efficient.

My friend recommended him, and after a few visits I won't be going back. On one visit I overheard him yelling at one of his staff in an abusive way. I couldn't imagine why because I loved his office staff. They were so helpful and pleasant, I really felt bad for them. At another visit it seemed like he was trying to convince me to get services that would benefit him more than me (financially, that is). I can't prove it, but it just felt like he had dollar signs in his eyes. I changed doctors and I'm happy with my new doctor

These days, it's nearly impossible to find a doctor who remains on top of their discipline, doesn't shy from holistic approaches, but still listens and follows up in the best "old school" ways. It's hard to find a practice where the staff is happy, loves people and gets along. I feel blessed to be in the hands of this group.

Dr. Steenbergen had been my GP for over 10 years. At first, I would have rated him much higher. Once he joined a huge firm, the care went down considerably. Wait time greatly increased, and the time he spent with my decreased with each visit. The lead time required to see him became terribly long. Even before this, I had issues, though. I left due to an incident when his staff would not book an appointment for me during the H1N1 outbreak. I had become incredibly ill and my symptoms did not really coincide with the flu. Nevertheless, I was told no. I asked to speak to the doctor directly, but continually got calls back from his office staff, who were rude and uncaring. I never actually spoke to the doctor. I became so ill that I went to the emergency room where I was treated for pneumonia. Shortly thereafter, I switch doctors and I am very pleased with my choice.

Dr Steenbergen is very professional, friendly, and good at what he does! He takes his time with you, and solves the problem. Appointments are accurate, as he does not overbook.A good, caring doctor is hard to find, but he is one of them!

Dr. Steenbergen has been my GP for about 15 years, and I have nothing but good things to say about him. He is very caring, very intelligent, and genuinely concerned about his patients!
