Dr. Mark Alan Steves, MD

Mark Steves is professional, but approachable, he has a wonderful bedside manor, a wonderful teacher, who doesn’t take his surgical team for granted, he is quick to praise and thank his team for a job well done, I would recommend him to anyone that needed his services. I am writing this as a member of the surgical team and not a patient, however if I needed him, I would not hesitate to see him professionally.

Dr. Mark Steves is the most caring, compassionate surgeon I’ve ever met. Dr. Steves and his staff perform my colorectal surgery with absolutely no complications.

He is an excellent surgeon that deals with patients during a very difficult time - he may not be warm and fuzzy - but that is not what you need when you have cancer in your system. His experience and highly skilled approach makes him an exceptional physician.

Dr. Steves came highly recommended by another top Dr. that took care of my Mother in Law during her bout with Lymphoma. On our first consultation, he ordered a few more tests and once they were completed we got a phone call stating that he was setting up surgery. We never had a follow up visit to discuss surgery, pros and cons, time frame, etc.. My wife had to call him and ask all the questions over the phone and it was like pulling teeth. Never the less he made BIG promises of the outcome and was unable to do what he said he could do. I understand that things sometimes don't go as planned under the knife however he gave us a lot hope. He should of gave us a better indication that there was a chance he would not be able to get it done. Instead he was very assuring and couldn't wait to get us in. That should of been our first red flag... I could write a book about our experience but choose to keep this as short as possible. PLEASE KNOW THAT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A TOP RATED,… KIND AND CARING SURGEON, Dr. Steves is not that person. You will be treated from the onset as nothing but a dollar sign. To conclude after my surgery I was admitted back into the hospital with a severe drain infection, My wife called Dr. Steves to set up my first appointment after surgery to have the drain removed per Dr Steves instructions in 1 week. He then states its too soon. Well to make a long story short, I was admitted back in to the hospital and am still in while writing this with a severe infection with the drain. My wife contacted his office to tell him and he has not even bothered calling back 8 days later,

he has horrible bedside manner

Dr. Steves performed two surgeries on my husband as treatment for a difficult cancer. He was always available for follow-up questions and concerns. His bedside manner is open and honest, sometimes telling you what you don't want to hear, but it is the truth. Wish other doctors had been so honest. After my husband passed away, Dr. Steves called and was compassionate and understanding. Recommend him without questions.

I was diagnosed with psuedomyxoma peritonei in 1990...a long time ago when I see the progress made in treatment. I am grateful to Dr. Sugarbaker for tackling a rare disease and finding a way to treat it. Dr. Steves, now that I see his bio, was actually just a few years older than me (25) when I had my surgery and follow up procedure. He was an incredibly gracious, funny, smart man.......i saw him EVERY DAY for 6 weeks plus two days and I will never forget him.

he did my 2nd surgery the 1st one was not succesful.I am feeling fine now.

Now I see why complaints have been filed against this doctor(but mysteriously get dropped) Dr unable to recall past conversations related to conditions. Strong arrogance. Hurtful bedside manner.Looses paperwork offten. This is not a good person deep down. Please read fully anything to be signed regarding him
