Dr. Mark Jay Stillman

I am confused by the negative reviews. I have been seen Dr Stillman for over a year and he has recognized that I was on wrong medications and has listen to me about non headache concerns. He has always listen to me and helped me when other doctors would not listen to me he has ordered tests that has confirmed are there non headache related concern and connected me with the appropriate doctor to fix it and that doctor was awesome I think he spends a great amount of time with me and really listens to me I feel he truly cares about MyHealth and does whatever he can to make sure I am getting the best care, the safest care, the most Complete Care even if it is something he himself does not treat. I would highly recommend

I did a large amount of research before taking time away from my young family and work to take my Mom to see Dr. Stillman. And I wish I could say we had the same experience but we have not. My Mom has been fighting a chronic migraine for 20+ years. She's lost her job because of it and missed out on seeing her grandchildren grow up because of it. We've seen close to 10 different doctors and specialist over the years and we thought maybe this would be the person to help us. His approach is nothing I haven't seen. He asked all the same questions. And had little to no bedside manner. At times he is thoughtful or kind but mostly cold and stand-offish. Especially when he is on the phone with her. All he did was insist she get off pain meds, which she did, and on her own WITHOUT medical help or supervision - even though I believe she needed it and worried for her safety while she did. And then we went back up months later (with her now in more pain than ever) for a… three-day treatment only to find she couldn't do half of what was prescribed because they did not look back to consider her heart condition in their treatments. What a waste. I had to take off of work, leave my kids, and spend $500 on a hotel for her to only feel mildly better for ONE DAY. Then as we are leaving we are asking what we do next and he just writes another Rx for this "new class of drug" that he says will change everything. Three weeks later and she still cannot leave her house. I have to do her shopping and cleaning for her. She is not even 60. She deserves to live her life. I am glad so many people got relief from seeing him - I just really really really wish we'd had the same experience. I begin to wonder if bad reviews are even published by Cleveland Clinic. It's almost too odd you never hear or see a bad word.

Dr. Mark Stillman is one of the brightest people I have ever met. He hadn't seen me since 2018 and when I saw him with my wife in 2018 he remembered both of us and what we did for a living. WOW. He was also kind and spent a lot of time talking to us. He put my wife on the new medication for migraine headaches. He was one of the researchers that discovered this new wonder drug for migraines. I would highly recommend him.

Although pulled in many directions, Dr Stillman manages to make each appointment about me, my conditions, my life. Having had migraines since childhood and lived near Queen's Square in London, I have seen some of the world's best headache specialists. Dr Stillman equals that treatment, adding a true personal investment in my own quality of life. An outstanding physician and caregiver.

Dr. Stillman is very thorough, kind, and open to hearing your thoughts, opinions, and questions. He found where other treatments may be triggering the migraines and headaches I've experienced for as long as I can remember. He offered solutions for how to control the symptoms those medications were treating. I've begun a new treatment, removed foods from my diet that can be triggers, and will be adding another treatment once I get insurance approval. I write much better than I speak, and Dr. Stillman is very patient with me as I sometimes slur out the closest word I can find to the one I was looking for after some delay, and he attends to my question/concern as if I asked him in perfectly clear speech with no hesitation in my words. All expressed concerns are addressed and he also expresses concerns and/or provides suggestions. He's a true team player on my Health team who I genuinely feel has my best interest in mind. When you live with a chronic illness and find a doctor like this,… it's like winning a lottery!

I'm a Nurse so by default, a kinda difficult patient. I'm quite picky and when I need a Specialist, I research them in depth!! I had a headache for 3 months before deciding to see a Doctor. (I first tried to cure myself... tried every OTC medication, changed my diet to the point I was Vegan & Gluten Free!!) Dr Stillman is Extremely Intense and Thorough. He has spent at least an hour with me at every one of my visits. (I've never felt rushed) He asks every question possible and comes up with a Plan of Care. At my first visit, he expected that I had NDPH and ordered a handful of tests. Since I live in Southwestern Michigan, I decided to have the tests done at home. I had a MRI & MRA and was scheduled to return a week later to review results. I got a phone call from Dr Stillman right when he received the images!! I had a Left Vertebral Artery Occlusion. (actually, he called me a few times) He makes time to fit me into his busy schedule knowing I travel 5 hours to see him.… He spends a good amount of time studying results and images. If you ask him a question, he will turn away from the images, make eye contact with you and answer your question before turning back to review the images again. We've tried a couple treatments and when something doesn't work, he quickly moves on to try something else!! He's uncertain about the occluded artery, so he wants me to see another Specialist. He's not arrogant or afraid to bring in other MD's if necessary!!! I look forward to continuing my care with Dr Stillman to find a treatment that will help control my headaches.
