Dr. Mark Joseph Swierzewski, MD

Best urologic surgeon in Florida. I was having trouble urinating and even moving. Dr. Mark did a biopsy, and it was discovered that I had cancer. He let me know that it wasn't the end of life and scheduled the surgery right away. I am cancer-free because of the most caring, genuine, amazing men in the medical field that I have ever met.

Rush through my first visit. As a new patient the appt took approx. 2 minutes. Asked why you are here and when was your last PSA. No questions on medical history or past treatments for my prostate cancer and large mass on kidney. After answering the two questions, he said, I see you in 3 months for a new PSA and left.

I have know Dr. Swerziewski for 25 years. Four years ago I was diagnosed with bladder cancer on a Wednesday. I called him that day. He said he’d see me right away and I drove from Sarasota to Lakeland the next day. He scheduled me for surgery the following Monday at Lakeland Regional and resected the tumor. He saved my bladder and probably my life.

Dr. Swierzewski was great. Knowledgeable, sensitive, informative… I immediately felt at ease – and felt confident in my receiving expert medical care. Staff was great, too. Walked away, very impressed w. the overall experience. HIGHLY recommend.

waited over an hour for less than a minute talk. was constantly trying to head for the door. he, himself, and the staff wrote down wrong important information on my grandma’s record and continued to argue that our information was wrong. never did anything about it until the second time we came back with wrong information still on her record. they kept arguing until he saw himself, after examining my grandma on a surgery that HE did, that he was in the wrong, never apologized. simply said “i have lots of patients, i get things mixed up” then left the room. HORRIBLE. highly DO NOT RECOMMEND. save your time and money, go to someone better.

Where do I even begin. I am beyond upset of how Watson Clinic treated my family today. Not only was the staff terribly rude to my family but it happened TWICE. Doctor Mark Swierzewski is unprofessional and so careless. After my cousin told him and his staff plenty of times that their records were WRONG he still did not listen until he himself had to do a procedure for absolutely nothing ! All he had to say was “well I was wrong” and not once did he apologize to my family. How could you be so careless and not apologize? In late 2015 I visited Dr. Mark S with a proven, (tested) low testosterone level. After a few questions he suggested and then wrote a script for a brain scan/MRI. I asked how often he requested these and he responded, approximately one in 20 to 25. Of those, he said that maybe another one in 20 or so might show an issue with a possible tumor on the pituitary. In my case, his supposition was correct, and a referral made to a neurosurgeon. Nearly four years later, the tumor had started to grow and impinge on my carotid artery, making me a "stroke waiting to happen". This (stroke) was not to happen though, since the early diagnosis prompted an annual MRI and I was able to monitor it. Fortunately the tumor was removed recently, and since his move from Tampa, I haven't contacted him to thank him personally. So, Dr. Mark, thank you SO MUCH!! From a "Simple" low testosterone level that I am sure many other physicians would have overlooked, the surgery went well!

Avoid this doctor. Made an appt. with this M.D. when I didn’t have a PCP, chiefly to get a scrip renewed. I always ask for all the paperwork ahead of time, so I can fill it out at home. They send me what they say is all the paperwork. I bring it to my appt., completed. However, then they confront me with numerous additional forms, with pharmaceutical company logos on them, asking questions designed to get me to talk to the doc about getting a scrip for a product made by those companies. I declined to fill them out. A very abrasive office manager woman then told me Swierzewski would not see me without them. I left. The Times soon after reported Swierzewski as having received thousands of dollars from the drug and device industries for pushing their products. His practice must not want to tip off new patients to what sort of doctor Swierzewski is, by deliberately withholding the big pharma-prepared questionnaires until you travel to keep your appointment, at which point… Swierzewski won’t see you unless you complete them. I’d say this is one to avoid, since Swierzewski derives benefits undisclosed to you in order push drugs and devices, and won’t provide services to you unless you cooperate.
