MY DOCTOR WAS READY TO WRITE A REFERRAL FOR ME TO SEE THIS DOCTOR. I QUALIFIED FOR THE ZEPHYR VALVE EXCEPT FOR MY WEIGHT. I HAVE SURVIVED BREAST CANCER TWICE IN MY LIFE I AM ONLY 58. I AM GOING TO DIE FROM COPD THIS IS WHAT MY HEART DOCTOR HAS INFORMED ME. ALL THE MEDICATIONS I AM TAKING AND THE STRESS ON MY HEART FROM NOT BEING ABLE TO BREATH. I CAN'T MOVE TO LOSE WEIGHT I HAVE NO LIFE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!! HE CLAIM HE WATCHED HIS DAD SUFFER THIS IS WHAT MY CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN WATCH EVERYDAY!!!!!!!

I took my dad for follow up visit after a recent emergency procedure. Dr Vollenweider spent nearly 40 minutes with us explaining test results and using illustrations to demonstrate what happened with my dad. He was positive, professional, funny and helpful. Best experience I’ve ever had with a doctor. Well done Dr.!

All the other reviewers are correct. Dr. Vollenweider is knowledgeable, he has a great sense of humor and he takes the time to review test results and shows me my x-rays and CT's. I though he was the greatest doctor I have ever had but ... He is overextended with many medical obligations outside of his primary patient care. During office visits he gives me all the time I need and answers all my questions. Here's the BUT...it is difficult to get an appointment with him even as a regular patient. It seems to me that he wants to see me less often than would be optimum for my chronic condition because he is overextended. If I ended up in the ER with a pulmonary emergency, he is absolutely the guy I want to see. As someone with a chronic condition I wonder if maybe I should find someone who can fit me in more than 3 times a year. Chronic conditions have this nasty way of becoming acute. I'd like to focus more on preventative treatment. Some constructive criticism : The office staff is… friendly but the system is broken or they are understaffed. Most times when I call, I get the voicemail at least once and it says to leave a message. The problem is that getting that call back can take 2 to 3 days. The curse of voicemail is that it often increases workload rather than alleviating it. I've learned to just hang up and call back until a live person answers the phone. There is no option for a nurses line or prescription refills.

Dr. Vollenweider is treating my son for Sarcoidosis. There are doctors who are good at treating illnesses but Dr. Vollenweider treats the illness AND the patient. Here is a Dr. Who actually sits down with you and talks to you and explains things. He has restored my faith in the medical profession. Cannot imagine a kinder, more compassionent and knowledgeable Pulmonologist than Dr. Vollenweider!

Dr. Vollenweider is compassionate and down to earth. He takes all the time you need - he draws pics for me to understand my condition - he has the warmest manner - and is incredibly knowledgeable. I have had lung problems for over 30 years - and Dr. Vollenweider is the best and most incredible Pulmo I've ever had.

I have met many doctors in my life but Never any doctor as thorough or pleasant as Dr Vollenweider, without a doubt the Very Best I have ever seen

I have spent many years under the care of physicians for many medical problems. All of which I faced head on until it was no longer nature I was fighting but unfortunately an accident from a surgery that left me with both vocal cords paralyzed. My husband and I lost all trust in our physicians. Then I was told to go see Dr Vollenweider. Where was he for the past 2 years? If only we had known about him then. Without question the kindest, intelligent, understanding, and caring physician we have come across. I have no doubt that whatever is thrown his way he will be there to catch whomever. For many reasons I thank him for going the thousand extra miles and stepping over that line.

Dr.V is a wonderful physician, he takes his time with his patients and will take the time to explain everything in detail. He is by far one of the best physicians I have had!
