Dr. Mark Allan Walker, MD

As I have Kaiser, I didn't have much choice in what Endocrinologist I chose for my thyroid nodule fine needle aspiration. Boy, should I have read reviews before allowing myself to submit to this man's technique. In the first place, his bedside manner is terrible. He is arrogant and doesn't listen. During the procedure, he played music that was clearly HIS favorite without asking whether I might be upset or bothered by its presence (and it wasn't what would be generally accepted as soothing music either). He didn't describe anything he was doing or about to do and talked over me to his assistant about concerts and his upcoming weekend the whole time. His technique was unnecessarily rough and I passed out during the procedure from the trauma. He never expressed concern that I passed out (fortunately I came to pretty quickly on my own), continued with the procedure without asking me if I needed a break and then left me in the room alone for 20 minutes before the assistant checked on me… again. My neck was quite swollen for 2 weeks following the procedure (which is not typical). I will never use this doctor again. If I would give less than one star I would!

Dr. Walker was not friendly and failed to appropriately introduce himself to me, especially since it was our first meeting. I definitely will not be going back.
