Dr. Mark Joseph Walterskirchen, MD

I would NOT RECOMMEND Dr. Mark Walterskirchen to anyone. My experiences with him make it seem that he is more interested in himself than providing quality care to his patients. I am an established patient with Dr. Walterskirchen, and over the course of 2-1/2 years I have had several negative experiences with him and with another PA who worked with him. Each time I voiced my concerns so those issues could be addressed and corrected as needed. This last summer,. I began experiencing gross hematuria - visible blood clots and blood in my urine almost daily - (some clots quite large - a very concerning issue), so I requested an appointment. His office called back right away to set up the appointment, but I was told that earliest he could see me was nearly 3 months out. That was totally unacceptable to me considering the circumstances. I felt that I was being put off due to voicing my concerns in the past. I called another urologist and was able to get in as a new patient in less than 3… weeks, and arrangements were made to perform all the necessary diagnostics on the first visit and determine a course of treatment. This experience stands in stark contrast with the "service" provided by Dr. Walterskirchen.

Dr. Walterskirchen was my surgeon when a tumor was found on my kidney. I highly recommend him as a surgeon. He was very professional and I believe he handled my case well.

Dr. Mark Walterskirchen saved my life! He was amazing from the first time he visited me at my hospital bed until my last follow up before I moved from Springfield. Each day I wake up and give thanks to God for "Dr. Skirch".

Condescending, rushed, insensitive . Acted like it was a bother to have to tell me about the surgical procedure he was proposing to do.

I have had excellent care from Dr. Walterskirchen. It has been a year since my surgery.

Dr W left his practice with not notice by him or his office. I showed up for an appointment for my second follow-up and I was told he left town.I was shocked and angered as he had also had to leave town following my surgery, and I was having severe complications. I would not recommend him based on his behavior and failure to provide followup care.
