Markeia Young is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience helping people achieve balance and take responsibility for creating the lives they want. She believes that self-care is about nurturing yourself from the inside out, and that it's important to address the things that can get in the way of this practice, such as past traumas, dysfunctional thinking patterns, and undefined boundaries. As a trauma-informed therapist, Markeia utilizes person-centered and solution-focused interventions to support adults of all ages from the diverse backgrounds she works with toward achieving their goals. Markeia specializes in treating anxiety, depression, relationship stress, trauma, PTSD, and self-esteem issues. Markeia holds a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Christopher Newport University.
