Certified by the American Board of Radiology in 2001, Dr. Marlena Jbara has served as Director of the Bone and Joint division of Radiology at Staten Island University Hospital since joining the team in 2008. In addition to overseeing all MSK imaging, she continues to be an active educator holding educational rotations for radiology, podiatric and emergency residents.
Dr. Jbara, a summa cum laude graduate of the accelerated BA-MD Program at the State University of New York, was actively recruited by Dr. Javier Beltran for his nationally recognized MRI musculoskeletal and body fellowship program. There she underwent rigorous musculoskeletal and body imaging training and became the Director of the first “New York Diagnostic Radiology Review Courseâ€. Practicing in all radiological practices, she is experienced in providing imaging interpretation for private practice, teleradiolgy and academic medicine.
Dr. Jbara has published articles and book chapters on the shoulder, knee and ankle. …Her current interests include sports related altered biomechanics, femoro-acetabular impingement and congenital/development foot and ankle disorders.
