Dr. Marsha Sonia Kadz Reuther, MD

Hands down my favorite doctor I've ever had. After 12 days of excruciating pain, 4 doctors visits (including ER and urgent care), I visited Dr Reuther hoping she'd reassure me my eardrum wouldn't pop from pressure I had been having when I got on a plane. Every other doctor said I had mono or some viral infection, gave me some antibiotics and painkillers that didn't work, advised me to "drink more water", and sent me on my way. As soon as I opened my mouth Dr Reuther's jaw dropped and she sent me to the ER so I could get the appropriate tests I had needed all along, asap. Next thing you know she was at my bedside in the hospital draining an (obvious) abscess in my throat. My relief was immediate and I was back to work, eating, and living my life the next day! Especially after dealing with so many dismissive and not so nice doctors, I can not say enough good things about Dr Reuther and her team at Scripps ER and in the clinic. She put me out of my misery immediately, has incredible… bedside manner, walked me through the whole process calmly, got me in and out of the hospital quickly, and has been checking up on me and is readily available if I have any more issues. I could not have picked a more kind, capable, caring, and wonderful doctor if I tried. I am so incredibly grateful, thank you!!!!!

On two occasions, my family was in need of a specialist regarding swallowing. Once with my senior father that other GI doctors didn't want to get that involved with (because of his 88 advanced years) and once for an opinion when 3 other opinions from other primary care physicians where not enough. In both cases, Dr. Reuther took a grate deal of time, listening, "correctly" diagnosing and preforming the necessary procedures to restore or families health back to normal. Both my Father and I have a great deal of respect and trust in Dr. Reuther and for us, there is now no other Otolaryngology doctor we feel we need to look for. We owe her a great deal of gratitude (more than a review can say).

As and Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon myself, I feel like I have a very good sense of my options in San Diego for specialized ENT and laryngology care. I wouldn't trust anyone else to scope me besides Dr. Reuther. She is kind, gentle, and a very good listener. Going to a specialist makes a difference. Her level of knowledge and nuance surpass my expectations every time I'm in to see her. I've referred several physician and non-physician friends...she really is the doctor's doctor!
