Dr. Marshall Slade Baker, MD

I walked in to meeet Dr. Baker - Slade the Blade to me now - weighing 139 pounds and really dragging. He quickly scanned and diagnosed my condition - Stage III colon cancer and convinced me that he could cure me. He did, faultlessly, and that was now five years ago. All that time, despite having no problems whatsoever I have stayed in touch at the VA surgery clinic, and I have seen many of the patients he cured with his expertise and knowledge. He is compassionate, super competent and caring. He is, in my opinion, the best.

Very level and caring doctor. Works with a group out of the VA. He spent almost 25 minutes discussing options and going over everything with us today.

Dr. Baker's experience is evidenced thru his surgical procedures and followup. He also has a not easily found, calm and focused but pleasant personality. He is one of the most respectful and concerned doctors I've known at Northshore Evanston.

Dr. Baker is by far, one of the finest doctors I have ever known. After suffering for over 6 months with debilitating pain and numerous doctors and tests, he was the only doctor who was able to diagnose my problem. He performed the necessary surgery and gave me back my life. His after surgery care was just as impressive and it was obvious to me that this is a man who does what he does because he cares. I don't have words enough to describe his expertise as a diagnostician and surgeon as well as his caring and compassion. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that his assistant is as exceptional as he is. They both respond to phone calls in a timely fashion and will always accommodate a patients special needs. I can only say that if your needs fall within his area of expertise, you could not find a better doctor.
