Dr. Marshall Martin Garland, MD

I had a rhinoplasty with Dr Miller and Dr Garland was my anesthesiologist. He made the procedure calming before it started-he was so comforting and funny-made me feel safe and put me at ease. Then before I knew it I was awake. Felt like I had a great sleep of 5 minutes but the procedure was an hour. I did not feel pain, or groggy and 0 sore throat. He took such amazing care of me I wish I did this procedure sooner with this practice. He is an amazing Dr. Recommend him to anyone with fears of anesthesia. Your life will be in great hands.

I went into my GYN office to do a hysteroscopy D & C under general anesthesia but came out with a very traumatic experience. I woke up numerous times throughout the procedure with excruciating pain. Unfortunately, I could hear and feel everything going on around but was paralyzed in terms of movement and speech. Tears rolled down my eyes as I felt helpless! After the procedure was done, I fell in a state of traumatic shock, anguish and broke down crying and demanding answers. I asked him why I was not sleeping like they promised and he brushed me off. He also unprofessionally attacked my weight as a cause of his inadequate judgment in medication. This is not an excuse for feeling horrible pain! I am a female who is 5'10 at 250 lbs because of my medical condition that has been put under sedation numerous times and never woke up in the middle with pain. He never had a pre-optic consultation with me to ask any questions. He actually said that he gave me pain medication to deal… with the pain after the procedure was done but not during. The other doctor stated that I woke up five times with pain and they did not stop the procedure or give me drugs to suppress the pain. In my opinion, all the above were a bad judgment call on both doctors! I as a patient should have been informed of any consequences and be given the choice on whether or not I would have wanted to proceed being awake.

I met Dr. Garland in the Poconos, PA. I was discussing my past problems I had encountered while under anesthesia during my many surgeries. He had met me for the first time, but took time out from his busy schedule to listen and give some helpful suggestions that he had encountered with patients who had similar problems in the past.
