Five stars for creativity. Who knew a psychiatrist would be the one to prescribe opiates to someone with a known history of drug abuse? Truly ahead of his time in redefining the Hippocratic Oath as more of a suggestion than a rule. Thanks to Dr. Lucas, my father no longer struggles with mental illness — or anything else, for that matter. He’s dead. If you’re looking for a provider who treats red flags as colorful confetti and hands out powerful narcotics like party favors, you’ve found your guy. Just be sure your affairs are in order. You might leave the office with a prescription and a countdown clock.

mark lejsek who is a nurse practioner at his family psychiatry has recently terminated my care citing that I have missed to many or canceled appointments. I confess that is true to some extent and I take responsibility for this but he does not understand that I am going through a difficult time right now being a caregiver and trying to go back to work and I am always exhausted.....and unfortunately I missed my last appointment because of this....I was also uncomfortable around him because he was arrogant, rude and made it seemed derogatory comments about Medicare patients.....also I don't know if he is homohobic or not but he seemed to give me that impression....anyway I would like to continue going there for treatment as everyone else has been nice and professional and I have always received good advice and gotten the medications I needed for my anxiety disorder...ggggg...

I was referred to Dr. Lucas 20+ yrs ago. He was actually doing Psychotherapy then! He helped so much, along with prescribing minimal Rx Loved his compassion and knowledge Cant get an appointment now, he has gotten to busy in business ventures. But he has a good staff. Im ok!? BB

Dr. Lucas is not only my Doctor but my son's doctor also. I consider him the best Psychiatrist in the Houston area. My son has been well and stable under his care and Dr. Lucas has saved my life. I am well and functioning with his care. He has a wonderful disposition and empathy. I would not see any other Psychiatrist. I feel safe with the care he provides my son and I.

I am an executive who has been spinning my wheels with a 10 year battle that began with a suicide attempt and a TBI 6 months before. I was given a diagnosis of major depressive disorder and had various prescriptions (with many changes) over the years, and another attempt or two. On the precipice of another attempt, my therapist sent me Dr Lucas at Woodland Springs hospital where I stayed for 8 day stay. He evened out my meds and corrected my diagnosis. I feel better than I have in years! I have fired my former Psy D. and am coming back to Dr. Lucas’s office for medication management. I am forever thankful to my therapist!

Where else can you go in for treatment for Bipolar Disorder and walk out with Oxycontin? If you have a history of substance abuse this place will give you the hook up. For those of you who are trying to get rid of a family member Dr. Lucas will give them Oxycontin without instructions and they overdose a few days later. Say hello to life insurance money!

First, Thank you to all of Dr. Lucus staff hospital and office. They have a tough job, of balancing paients coming in for med checks and patient's coming in for follow-up from the hospital. Dr. Lucus is one of the most kind and caring humans I have ever met. His dedication knows no bounds. He works around the clock from saving lives in the hospital to following up with them later in his office. My suggestion to all the complaints about medications. I assure you if you ask to be on lower dose he will do it if he can safely. Research on how medication is proscribed is helpful. Its a process to get the dosing correct. And each person is different. He personally saved my life, without his individual approach and willingness to keep trying, I would not be here today. Most doctors just try the same thing over and over but he is invested in providing the best care possible from the newest medication available to hospitalization. And much congrads on both his awards for 2018 ??

Name one reason a psychiatrist who admitted to testing drugs on himself while in med school would prescribe a Bipolar Disorder patient an OxyContin?

I saw my provider 3-4 times and every time he would prescribe a new drug and/or increase dosages on drugs. Even when I expressed my concern about such high dosages of highly-addictive meds, was told not to worry. In order to get refills you must see them in person. I set an appointment. Then 2.5 hours past my scheduled appt time I still had not been seen. Talk to receptionist who tells me there’s still TWO MORE PEOPLE AHEAD OF ME!!! I work an hourly job and can’t hang out there all day. Already paid copay & they tell me no refund but they can apply to next appt. Rescheduled appt I show up 15 mins early. 45 mins past my scheduled appt time I check with receptionist again. Tells me they just took someone back so it’ll be at least another hour. So an hour & 45 minutes to see my provider!! PAST the appointment time THEY gave me. Again, losing wages at my hourly job waiting. So I have to leave. Again, without seeing the provider. That’s correct...they put you on high dosages… of dangerous meds, require you to see them in person for refills, even drug test you at random, then make it impossible to see them. Which means I went off my meds cold turkey because of them. VERY DANGEROUS!!! But they have no problem taking your copay or charging you $50 if you’re late. They ask us to respect their time but do not respect patient’s time at all. So, I apparently am quitting some highly addictive & controlled substances (at the high dosages they put me on) cold turkey. They have zero regard for the welfare of their patients if they’re okay with doing that. As long as they get their money.
