Dr. Marshall Sim Melcer, MD

I saw Dr. Melcer today for an enlarged prostate and I was pleasantly surprised that he spent so much time with me an did a very thorough examinations and listened to everything I had to address during my first visit. He is extremely professional with a great sense of humor. I was really happy that I happened to be assigned to Dr Melcer, because when I made the appointment, I had asked the receptionist for the earliest available appointment. I guess, I lucked out. I would recommend Dr Melcer wholeheartedly.

Glad I selected Dr Marshal Melcer for my husband’s prostate problem . He has great skills, experience and very knowledgeable in his expertise. He personally called my husband for his MRI test results and did an excellent job with his biopsy. Yes he can be direct with his responses but it’s because he cares for his patients. I highly recommend him for anyone’s urology needs..

Monday I fired Dr. Marshall Melcer. I won't be going back. Every visit is rushed, I get zero time to ask questions. Most recently I had a CT scan from another provider sent to him well in advance. He did not bother to read the report. When I asked to show him a spot on the CT that had shown on previous CT's and never been reported by radiologists, he made it a big deal to review the disk. He through up his hands and stormed out of my sight. His office scheduled this appointment so it was my expectation it was to discuss the results. No, it was to fill the waiting room with paying patients and get them thorough an assembly line of cursory examinations. I was apparently bothersome though for 13 years seeing this doctor and at least two procedures and one in future I am certain. This pattern if indifference rudeness and rushed examination is something of a constant with him. He also is inconsistent on his DX. For example a short while back he announced I had "Randalls Plaques" something… I had never heard of. On the next visit he denied he mentioned that. Same with cysts in my kidneys, first they are there, then the next visit they are not. Guess what they are back, but it is a "nothing burger" to him. I have severe abdominal pain that mimics a stone attack, and then it seems like gastro. So here I am in pain, with a doctor more concerned with giving me the bums rush.

Dr. Melcer diagnosed an infection which affected my prostate, causing it to be greatly enlarged, and could have been life-threatening. He acted immediately, prescribing a strong antibiotic which cleared up the problem after a 30-day regimen. My PSA, taken shortly after finishing the antibiotic, was 1.8, and my prostate had gone back to normal. The doctor was highly professional, kind, and considerate, and explained in detail what caused such an occurrence. The staff echoed that professionalism and their attitudes reflected plenty of TLC. This office deserves a 5-star rating, more actually, but that's all the survey allowed. The highest of recommendations!

I was extremely fortunate Dr. Melcer was the doctor on call during my radical laproscopic hysterectomy. My gynecologist surgeon cut my bladder and ureter and Dr. Melcer successfully repaired the damage. He is gifted, reassuring and confident and I received the highest quality care from him and his staff. I am convinced his expertise has prevented me from having a lifetime of urology issues. Dr. Melcer is the consummate professional. He is brilliant, concerned, and takes the time to listen to his patients. He has performed surgeries on not only myself, but also on my husband and sister, and in all cases was superb. He has excellent rapport with his patients. I feel confident as his patient. And totally blessed to be one. No wonders he has been named "Orlando's Finest!".

Dr Melcer is a good and caring doctor. I hope people don't look at the bad ratings a few dissatisfied people create. I have a lot of health issues. Since we moved here I have struggled to find good doctors. Dr Melcer is one of those doctors. He spends time with you, listens and answers your questions. He also doesn't use NP or PA's to do the work, you actually get to see the doctor. Overall Dr Melcer is a great doctor!

Not impressed with him he has a major attitude that needs adjusting. Just because you are a doctor does not mean you need to treat the rest of us like second class citizens.

Dr Melcer is a great doctor. He cares about all of his patients, gives you his full attention and makes you feel like he really is listening to you. He is great at making a diagnosis even when symptoms are unusual or not clear.
