Summary
I grew up in a medical family in Cape Town, South Africa, where I observed my father, a primary care physician, taking care of his patients. Inspired to follow in his footsteps, I attended medical school in Cape Town. When my parents immigrated to London, England in the early 70's, I began my post-graduate surgical education there. In 1975, my wife and I came to the United States, where I completed my surgical training. We moved from the East Coast to San Diego in 1991, where I joined Kaiser Permanente as a general surgeon.
