Dr. Marshall Edward Tolbert, MD

Was referred to Dr. Tolbert and told he was very good. My first appointment was with an APRN, ACNPC-AG who was not only unfamiliar with my treatment history, but also my specific condition. She was unable to answer ANY questions I had about prognosis, treatment, or expectations from referrals. Additionally, she disregarded my report of symptoms, took minimal notes, which was reflected in my online record. My visit summary essentially acknowledged I attended the appointment with a slightly elevated blood pressure reading. Subsequently, I responded to a patient satisfaction email and took the time to express my disappointment over the “care” I had received that day. I later received a call saying Dr. Tolbert believes the specific condition is something else, which is inconsistent with several other specialist provider’s reading of my images AND my conversations with them. I was told Dr. Tolbert wanted to see me within a week, and after a specialist visit, and I was contacted later that… day to schedule that appointment. At the time I rescheduled, my previously scheduled visit was then cancelled. The next day I get a call from another staff member who also spoke with Dr. Tolbert, and apparently within less than 24 hours Dr. Tolbert believes I should wait three weeks to come back to allow time for additional studies to be received. When I asked why the change and what would take so long, again I received no answers. I then was rescheduling my appointment yet again and was told another patient had been placed into my prior slot. Needless to say, I thanked her for her call and told her I would call back. However, my experience thus far with this office has included nothing but “I don’t knows” and second hand diagnosis with no discussion of treatment or concerns and therefore I am seeking out care from a more professional specialist/group. I believe the practice of neurosurgery to be one where providers and staff should exude experience and professionalism with patients. You WON’T find that here. Rather if you are able, please choose another provider OR at the very least obtain a second opinion from someone specializing in your particular health matter.

Very poor doctor don't care doesn't listen nothing's his fault all the problems related to surgery are caused by something else just plain don't care

Review on Office Staff NOT Dr Tolbert...The office staff employed at this office has got to be the worst I have ever experienced. Very rude, condescending, very unprofessional and should be NOT be working for any workplace that has to deal with people. Sorry to but reminds me of some McDonald's crew where customer service cease to exist these days!! RUDE OFFICE STAFF!!

Terrible office staff but nothing compared to Dr. Tolbert. He was 5 hours late for my surgery. No one at the hospital could him. Poor results from surgery. Mayo Dr will redo it correctly!Another major surgery due to his carelessness.

Terrible office staff!! Rude to patients and families. Very uninformed.Dr Tolbert is the most uncaring, most forgetful dr I have ever seen. Do not go to him. Greedy and unreliable.
