Dr. Marta Lynn Derieg, MD

The most positive thing about this doctor is she was very concerned about me being Post Partum. She talked to me and was truly interested in how I was adjusting. I will always be thankful for that. But when it came to my decision on immunizations I was basically kicked out of her office at my sons 9 month check up. I said I wasn’t going to be giving him MMR at 12 months until he was a little older. I felt talked down to or that I was stupid for making that decision. Left the office feeling lost and unwelcome as a new mother with a precious baby. Now I have found a doctor for my son who accepts my wishes and gives good information on both sides.

When calling this office for an appointment, I was told to call back when the receptionist was there on Wednesday. Bad customer service.

This dr. is terrible. I can never get an appt. in. I thought she was great at first, but than I saw how horrible her staff is including her. Her nurse was a meany too. The nurse is fat and hefty I think her name was Misty she was rude to my children. Derieg is a mess I heard she has family issues. Her practice is a mess. One time I couldn't get an appt. for three months a wellness check. Too bad she comes off as a caring person, but watch out shes very unorganized and is concerned about being paid not about the children. So sad.

I have been trying for 3 days to see whether or not this doctor accepts new patients and have been forced to wait 3 days now in a row, even after I informed them it was possible my 8 month old son was suffering from an ear infection. When I first called on Monday, I was asked a series of awkward questions (instead of your name, your kids ages, your insurance- they asked you kids name, ages, and if they were healthy) then was asked to hold. The receptionist came back on and informed us that we would be called back either the next day or the following with the doctor's "decision". I cannot believe the complete lack of professionalism for this doctor's office--I am not asking for admittance into Harvard Law School but to a rural pediatrician's office. When I called back 3 days later, when I asked point blank whether or not she would admit my children as patients, the receptionist mentioned that the doctor has not yet determined whether or not she is accepting new patients. I have never… been exposed to such a discriminatory method of screening. It leaves the parent of children with no recourse and feels like it is using their status since there are limited doctors to treat people however they want. Disgusting and appaling practices- especially since we are talking about children's medical care.

Dr Marta Derieg shouldnt let her personal feelings towards parents affect her treatment of their children. My children had been going to her for 7 years and we thought she was great until an incident regarding my son aged 6 yrs old had a asthma attack. It was a sudden attack and we had run out of refills. We called Dr Derieg up to see if she could call in the refill to the pharmacy in which she said we had to bring my son into her office for a check up. We said he was having an asthma attack and needed the albuterol. She said we needed to bring him in immediately so she could diagnose the problem. My wife replied that it wasnt necessary because we knew what it was. My wife told Dr Derieg that it seemed like the doctor only wanted us to come in so she could charge for the doctors visit. This seemed to be the beginning of the end of our doctor/patient relationship. My wife was pregnant with twins during this time. Upon giving birth we still wanted Dr derieg to care for ourr twin… daughters. When we called to make an appointment we were told that Dr Derieg was no longer taking any new patients. Far enough we thought because our older children were still under her care, so we found another doctor to care for our twins. Not long after a very close friend of ours upon our recommendation years previous to this incident told us that her infant son who was younger than my twins by a couple of months had been accepted by Dr Derieg to care for. Which confused us but we didnt look further into the matter. Fast forward to the present, today my wife called to make an appointment with Dr Derieg for my 6 yrs old son who was sent home from school due to a sore throat. A lady named Pearla answered the phone at Dr Deriegs office and informed my wife my children were no longer welcomed in Dr deriegs office. Rudely Pearla continued to state that we had already been informed of this in the which my wife replied we had not been informed of my other children not being cared by dr derieg only my twins. She said we were no longer welcomed because we were non compliant with their office policies. We asked for clarification they said we had missed 2 visits. My wife replied 2 visits missed in the past 7 years shouldnt be a good enough reason. Pearla told me later on in another conversation on the phone that it was 3 missed visits in one year which is a load of hogwash. They said we failed to get all the immunized shots for my youngest son who is now 3yrs old. My 3 year old had all his shots done. I recall a couple of phone calls from Dr Deriegs office saying we missed appointments that were never set up and that we owed money that we never owed. Things seem fishy. I asked Pearla are these rules posted anywhere in the office she said NO in which I replied then how do we even know if any patient is being compliant or not or even how to be compliant with their rules and regulations. Pearla declined to let me speak directly with the Doctor. I think dr derieg has allowed her animosity towards us cloud her ability to see through her virulence and chicanery. Pearla is supercilious and obtuse. Schooling for customer service might be what she needs. So dont upset dr derieg or else your children will suffer.
