Dr. Marta Rivera

Dr. Marta M. Rivera was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York until 10 years of age. Then her parents moved to Puerto Rico. She went to Notre Dame High school. She attended the University of Puerto Rico and graduated with a Biology major. She graduated from the Medical Science Campus School of Dentistry of Puerto Rico. She practiced at one of the professor’s office and then opened up her own practice. She also worked with the Olympic committee of Puerto Rico taking care of the athletes and children who were boarded in the specialized training school. She attended many athletic games as medical staff providing dental trauma emergency treatment and customized athletic mouth guards when it was not a requirement then. In 1995 she decided to go back to school and did her residency in pediatric dentistry in the University Children’s Hospital in San Juan Puerto Rico.
Before finishing her residency she came to Florida in 1996 to take the Florida Dental Board. She moved to Florida in 1997 …and started practicing in Lakeland, then Plant City. She has been a resident of New Tampa since 1999. She went on her own and opened her office in New Tampa in 2002.
She loves the area and is very grateful of the wonderful patients that have been with her since the opening of her office.
Not having children of her own, she tries to make them as comfortable as possible thinking as she would if she would want her children to be taken care of. “Children’s energy is what gets me going in life, and I am very grateful for this opportunity in life to serve this way”.
