Dr. Martha Sue Fanning, MD

This was my second time in which Dr Fanning was on duty. My family & I appreciated her relaxed, caring, kind, & thorough manner. She really listened.

Dr Fanning was efficient,direct and thoughtful as she tried to get to the bottom of my sudden spike in blood pressure. She made time to explain why she ordered tests, assured me that they/she would find the cause. For an unpleasant health issue, the genuine care of the staff and Dr Fanning made the experience positive

From the moment I arrived at SMHPS ER, I was greeted by a VERY KIND gentleman who registered me without any wait. No sooner did I sit down to complete my paperwork and I was called in to be seen. Once in my room, and after carefully listening to my health concerns, the Nurse promptly began her assessment. Shortly after she collected her information, Dr. Fanning came in. There was very little wait time. After a complete evaluation, Dr. Fanning let me know her findings and dx and then discussed the treatment plan. The wait time for additional testing (x-ray) was minimal. Even the staff of the radiology department was very kind and compassionate. I left with excellent information and instructions and encouraged to call back in a couple of days if I was not feeling better. I received EXCELLENT care by Dr. Fanning and the entire SMHPS ER Team, when I needed it, to the extent that I needed it. Thank you Dr. Fanning and the entire SMHPS ER Staff!

I went to the ER in pain. Fanning spent very little time with me and misdiagnosed me. She accused me of just wanting drugs - if she had bothered to turn on the light in the ER room, instead of just going by the hall light, she might have noticed that I was breaking out in Shingles. I also had a diseased gallbladder underneath the Shingles area which needed to be removed - but I had to have that diagnosed by another doctor 2 days later. Fanning is one of the worst doctors I've ever had the misfortune of seeing in an ER. She needs to learn that Shingle's plus a diseased gall bladder equals pain.

Worst experience I have ever had with a health care professional.
