Dr. Martha Anne Nance, MD

My husband passed away just a few weeks ago as his ability to swallow and empty his stomach slowed down to the point where he became so malnourished. He reached out to Dr.Nance several times regarding this and she just had her office send a list of high caloric foods to eat. In the hospital due to an inflammation in his spine they had him take a swallowing test since it had been several years only to find he should have been eating foods of pudding consistency and should have had more hands on guidance with his neurologist. U fortunately he was too underweight at this point and his ability to improve was not going to happen . We took him home and with help of hospice care he passed 3 weeks later. When we asked Dr. Nance if she thought it was the Parkinson’s causing his extreme weight loss she was very flippant and said she does not see her patients getting that underweight. I wish she would have followed up earlier with my husband’s concerns and maybe we would have had a few more good… years With him.

My father saw Dr. Martha Nance. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease at the age of 66. He is now only 72 and on his death bed. Over the 2 years of seeing Dr. Martha Nance, his medications were increased and his quality of life plummeted. I highly suggest seeing a Neurologist that specializes in Functional Medicine. Had Dr. Nance educated the family that these PD pharmaceuticals do nothing for the disease except provide symptomatic relief. In year 5 he will build up tolerance needing more and a dependency to them to then suffer when they stop working because of all the side effects, we would have never listened to her. My father is suffering on his death bed and it is the worst thing to witness as his daughter. His life span was shortened when there are so many alternative treatments and protocols for PD that don't involve heavy pharmaceuticals to mask the symptoms. It's to late now to turn back the clock but if I could, I would have never allowed my father to see this doctor… let alone follow her recommendations! He is out right suffering.

Dr. Nance is a caring and straight forward doctor. She will give you sound advice with no sugar coating. I like that. She has the ability to listen to all of your concerns and will address each of them. I highly recommend her. She is a breath of fresh air.
