Dr. Martha Praught, MD

Dr. Martha Praught has been the BEST DOCTOR I have ever had, (30 years of Dr's). She changed practices so I have not seen her in 4 to 5 years and I sincerely miss that connection. She always welcomed me and made me feel important.

I visited Dr. Praught because my insurance changed and I needed a psychiatrist for continuation of care. My first appointment with Dr. Praught was fine, but by the second visit she started to contradict advice I have been given by other medical practitioners who have more expertise with my well documented comorbid medical condition. She displayed a cavalier attitude toward my comorbid illness and marginalized the advice I have received from my other medical practitioners. When I tried to assert how uncomfortable I was with the situation she suggested that perhaps I needed cognitive behavioral therapy to get my past my anxiety. Unfortunately, the anxiety provoked by that visit has led to a diagnosis by my PCP of mild post traumatic stress. I have cancelled my future appointments with Dr. Praught and do not intend to return.
