Summary
I have always enjoyed the challenge of studying science. My mother was a registered nurse, and she helped me transform my passion for science into a passion for medicine. I lost my mom to lung cancer in her early 40s, but I still wanted to become a doctor.
I began working as a pediatric physician in the U.S. Air Force in 1981, and, since then, I've continued to focus on preventive care as the keystone of pediatrics. From my first visit with a pregnant mother and expectant father, I strive to educate them and help them as their child continues to grow.
My own children are all grown. My husband and I have one daughter and two sons. Together, we enjoy going to the beach and watching football.
