Dr. Martin Garza, MD

I have been going to Dr Garza for the last couple of years and I have Always been attended good with or without appointment He has been a good well concerned dr and one of my three kids have admit asmtha and autism

I am brand new to the Valley. The ease of appointment making and paperwork was satisfactory. The front reception and billing person were quite pleasant. However, after waiting with 3 small children for an hour, I began to wonder if the Dr. was going to come into the room or not. I stuck my head out to remind someone we were waiting which was met from a nurse with a scoff and a stern, ' just keep waiting'....sentiment. Finally, when the Dr. came into the room, we chatted momentarily then I simply inquired if an hour wait time at his practice was normal and he basically said, yes. To which I replied, if my next appt is at 1:45pm, I will arrive at 2:30 then. He then pretty much told me to shop around for another pediatrician with whom I can get along. Needless to say, upon leaving I requested my papers back and informed the front staff I was not going to bring my 3 children to their practice. I am going to find a practice which respects my time and is more professional and… considerate towards their patients than Martin Garza's practice.

Dr. Garza is wonderful! He is very patient... he is great with kids! Staff is very comforting and caring..friendly! Always a smile when you walk in the door.. My son does not hesitate to wanna go see Dr. Garza because he knows he is in great care! Even when my son is not sick, he wants to go for a visit!

The clinic is warm and inviting.The staff is friendly and willing to make my children comfortable. Waiting isnt long. The kids rooms are great. The Doctor is patient and willing to take his time to listen to what problem the child has. He is willing to be open to discussion about my childs complaints. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I've been to his office once. Only because my daughters pediatrician is closed on the weekends. His staff isn't as pleasant as the other reviewers stated. The seemed annoyed when speaking to me (and other in general). I waited about 20 minutes before we were taken in to get our vitals. Then we waited another 40 min or so before we were taken in to a room. After that, we waited an additional 10 min or so. Dr. Martin, himself, doesn't seem to know what he's doing. He overlooked my concerns, didn't clearly answer my questions and misdiagnosed my daughter. I will not take her there again. BTW, I found out my daughter has asthma. I don't know how he could have overlooked that?

I am surprised my Karen's experience. I have been very dissatisfied with many of the doctors we've been to in the Rio Grande Valley. Dr. Garza has been different. He has taken quite a lot of time to answer my quesions, help me understand things, and even consider ideas for diagnosis that I wanted checked out.My child's medical problems are such that have caused even the specialists difficulty, so I can't speak completely knowingly about his abilities to diagnose. He does great with at least ordinary things. And is quite willing to defer to a specialist when it goes beyond his training.I consider him to be one of the better doctors in the Rio Grande Valley.

While the clinic is clean and his staff is prompt in getting you in and out, it is exactly that, in and out. You are not given a follow up appointment, and in our experience, we visited 3 times and were repeatedly given the same diagnosis. He did not give us an option in a referral to a specialist. We looked for one on our own and found out our child was repeatedly misdiagnosed.
