He was dismissive, rude & I would not suggest ANYONE waste their time with him. I went to another Doctor who listened & my thyroid issues are resolved. He will NOT prescribe natural thyroid (i.e. Armour)

He spent a long time with me on my first visit, and also asked me to take my shirt off. I took my shirt off because I thought he was going to examine me but then I thought to myself "Why did he ask me to take my shirt off and sit there with my bra on only so he can give me a cup of water to drink while he checks my thryoid?". It didn't make any sense. My second visit was very short ( he didn't ask me to take my shirt off this time), and he didn't even say goodbye to me. He just went through my blood results pretty much reading off the computer screen not explaining anything to me. I am so disappointed because I just wasted my time there and I am now off my medication and feeling like crap. Now I need to find another doctor and waste insurance money again.

I went to Dr. Hochstein years ago- probably in the late eighties or early nineties. I was in my twenties and in excellent shape. He wanted to examine my breasts which of course I refused to let him do. I was in there for an issue that had nothing to do with that part of my anatomy. He was alone with me and I was somewhat frightened by the situation. I left as quickly as I could and never went back there. I've often wondered if other women encountered this disgusting behavior. Obviously from reading other reviews, they have. I only wish that I had reported him.

VERY ARROGANT! If I could give him zero stars I would, but that option was not available. I went to see him when I first started experiencing the following symptoms: hair loss (by the handful!), weight gain and inablility to lose weight, acne, sluggishness, fatigue and much more. After he made me take a variety of blood tests and also made me undress to "check my thyroid", he basically told me there was nothing wrong with me! His comments ranged from "You have more hair than most women" to "You are overweight and should go on OptiFast". Huh? This man knew nothing about my habits. I have been a gym rat for 25 years, plus I eat EXTREMELY healthy. My issues had nothing to do with nutrition and everything to do with what was going on within my body. This guy is extremely scary and listens to nothing you say. I was pretty educated as to what I thought was going on with me and he made sure to tell me HE was the expert and I knew nothing. RUN and don't look back! This guy will only hurt you.… I have since found a doctor who actually knows what he's doing.

WASTE OF TIME DUE TO INSUFFICIENT ASSISTANTS NOT DOING THEIR JOB. ! DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE FOR ONE IT'S IN THE WORST PLACE IN PARAMUS AND SECONDLY THEY DO TREAT PATIENTS WITH PROFESSIONALISM !

The authority of Hashimotos Thyroiditis. He spent a long time with me on my first visit and actually listened to what i had to say. He makes you feel relaxed and comfortable.

I was a patient of Dr. Hochstein for over 20 years. Obviously I was not displeased with his medical care for a long time but the longer he has been in practice, the less he seemed to care about me as an individual. His staff always seem unhappy and it is not a comfortable atmosphere anymore. When the doctor has bloodwork done, you have to check on the results by calling but you can only call on a Friday between 2:00-3:00. As I work full time this is not always possible. Several times I was not able to get through at that time since everyone is trying to call. When I first started going to him, if there was a change needed he called me. Somewhere along the way that practice stopped and at times I would find out 3-4 weeks later that I needed an adjustment of medication. Now with the meds needed for hypothyroidism it can take 2-3 weeks to be effective. When I finally got so disgusted with the manner in which this was being handled I called to tell him I was no longer going to be… his patient, he got on the phone and started telling me something he had already told me 2 weeks prior. It was very scary to think that he had not noted in my file that he had already spoken to me about that issue. When I told him that, his excuse was that he has a big practice with many patients. Does that mean he shouldn't know his patients...scary. That was the final straw for me.

I've been going to Dr. Hochstein for over 10 years. He has always been there when I've needed him in emergency situations. Very professional and knowledgeable. Lucky to have him as my doctor.
