Dr. Martin Nelson Kathrins, MD

He was the worst provider out of my numerous physicians for over 40 years at the MGH/Brighams Hospital. He rescheduled surgeries on me and his office never notified me of the change in date and time. It was very rude and cruel. He wrote prescriptions for me that I was on for months and said he did not until I sent him a picture of the pharmacy bottle with his name on it and he wrote me to stop it and said he was sorry. He talked down to me as a woman. He was very dismissive. I have outstanding relationships with my other providers so this was a very upsetting experience with him. He never returned important messages nor did his staff. So relieved I have a new provider. Such an awful experience with Doctor Kathrins treating me or anyone this way. Rude and uncalled for.

This Dr. is overworked, understaffed and indecisive. First, I had to schedule three appointments for "invasive" tests that could have been performed in one longer appointment. However, because he is overworked and understaffed I had to come back three different times all over a month apart. This is unacceptable and unprofessional and a major red flag about quality of care. Think twice before scheduling with him.

Bad experience with Dr. Kathrins. Drove over an hour for my appointment. There was a long Covid check-in process downstairs before getting up to his suite. By the time I got parked and checked in I was 15 minutes late and Dr. Kathrins refused to see me. I'm hard-pressed to remember a time when a doctor actually saw me on time. But this doctor was apparently ready to go write on the minute. This was not communicated, mind you, by the doctor himself but by his rude admin. I let her know I had driven an hour, but she refused to be flexible or understanding, so I was not allowed to actually see the doctor.

I had testicular pain for 18 months and saw three urologists before I was referred to Dr. Kathrins. He had the knowledge and solution to my problem. He performed a surgery to remove the nerve that seemed to be causing the issue. I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Kathrins, a true professional.
