Dr. Martin J Sullivan, MD

This is the first time posting a negative comment about a physician ever however, it’s necessary to help other people. It was the worst experience with a physician: disregard, rushed, rudeness and collusion with some deceptive staff. I hope all can be treated with more respect, expertise, truthfulness, efficiency and compassion here or elsewhere.

Very bad bedside manners, rushed appointments, staff does not follow through to requests prior to appointments and office closes early on Fridays, Dr. and staff can become very offensive, lie or be prejudice to minorities.

I have no words for how rude, unkind and unprofessional this guy is. His lack of empathy in my opinion is equivalent to that of a sociopath. I just moved here from out of state and I am having health issues. From the moment he entered the room he treated me with zero kindness and continued to belittle me as a human because he failed to see past my “tattoo stereotype.” I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to spend 2 minutes with this guy. It’s beyond “table side manner.” It’s a matter of his arrogance and complete lack of humanity. I’m writing this to try to warn others who might read this to stay away!!

Very knowledgeable and professional. Great personality with a good sense of humor. Doc Sullivan saved my life and I trust his judgement and experience.

Dr Sullivan has excellent diagnostic skills as a Cardiology. After several physicians, my dad finally has someone who spends time listening to his symptoms and doing a thorough exam and work up. His Heart disease and Blood pressure seem to now be in good control. He also communicates in a way that is understood and also provides written visit paperwork. He has a very compassionate, caring attitude. As a former Cardiology nurse,I appreciate Dr. Sullivan’s expertise.

Does not listen. Very rude. 1st visit, sat waiting in room for him for an hour. Nurse did not call back when I had a question about medication.

Dr. Sullivan has done a super job of helping me adapt to living with heart disease over the two years I have been seeing him. After this time, all my vitals are improved. I went to him after being disappointed with another cardiologist -- best move I have made. I have recommended him to a number of friends.

Dr Sullivan is both knowledgeable and caring. He treated me for heart failure and I felt much better.

Does not treat patients with respect.

Went to see Dr. Sullivan for an echo to check on my congenital heart defect. Echo was completed at Pardee and the results were sent to Dr. Sullivan. I went for my follow up appointment and was told by Dr. Sullivan that my echo was normal and would not need to follow up. Happy about the info, I requested my records from the receptionist and went home. At home reading the echo report, and the results were completely abnormal. I work in healthcare on a cardiology unit. Dr. Sullivan did not provide an explanation of my abnormal results and if I needed possible treatment. He relayed through his nurse over the phone that there was nothing for me to worry about and no treatment is necessary. This is unacceptable. Even if I do not need treatment for my abnormal heart, he should have reviewed the results with me and provided me with the opportunity to ask him questions. As other reviewers have posted, he is abrupt and talks over you when you're answering his questions. I will be seeking a… second opinion from someone else.
