Dr. Martin J Verhey, MD

Dr. Verhey did not really take time to explain the procedure nor side effects or downsides to the spinal injection I was to receive. When I arrived at the hospital for the injection, I was told the appointment had been canceled. I never got a phone call, email, or text notification of this. I wasted my copay and my insurers money with this office. Avoid them.

After being told I must have a spinal fusion or stay confined to a wheelchair in severe pain, I consulted Dr. Verhey and he gave me several steroid shots in my back. The procedure itself was somewhat painful despite the anesthetic but the results were well worth it! I am up and walking painlessly and eagerly planning to resume the work I love. It's like a miracle. I realize it may not last forever but I've had this procedure done in the past without any success. If I do need surgery later on, I will choose Dr. Verhey because he is the first orthopedic/spine specialist who actually injected the right nerves and freed me from the severe pain and disability of walking so bent over I looked 100 years old. I have no more need for the wheelchair which saves me a lot of money because I no longer have to rely on paid help to get around. THANKYOU, Dr. Verhey!

I have been a patient of Dr. Verhey's for almost three years. I have found him to be caring, a good listener, and very skilled at the procedures he does. He is by far the best of the pain management doctors I have been a patient with.

First time I met him he said my names, Dr. Verhey; it would help if you lost weight. I am a little overweight but far from obese. After he did the injections I developed A SEVERE migraine that put me in the hospital. We are on day 5 of migraine. When telling his staff they acted like it was no big deal. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS MAN AGAIN. He argued with me when I told him where the pain was, 5 day migraine, hospital and no relief.

Excellent doctor and staff

I was a little concerned prior to my visit with Dr. Verhey as there are some negative reviews. My experience was excellent. I was received and prepped quickly. Dr. Verhey explained things well and clearly and he performed the procedure more quickly and with less pain than anyone has performed this procedure for me before.

He has given me both back injections AND done anesthesia for surgery! Great doctor!!!

Dr. Verhey is an excellent pain management doctor. He is caring, through, and has an excellent bedside manner. His staff is second to none!

Dr. Verhey's was just ok seemed nice but when it came to his staff they were absolutely awful. You have to deal more with his arrogant staff because Dr. Verhay only is in the office one day a week which is on a Monday which has many holidays and if you need anything your out of luck. You are not allowed to have the doctor call you. You can only talk to the nurses who routinely slam the phone down which was witnessed waiting for my appointment. As a retired vet I have never ever been to such a terrible place. Stay away. Stay away.

I have chronic pain from cluster and migraine headaches, as well as intense pain from recent chest surgery. This doctor seemed very uninterested in any of my medical issues. The only thing he wanted to do was decrease the amount of medications I take (which isn't even a lot). He even said that ideally he would have me on zero medication (even for my psychological issues). I've been on the same medication for quite some time, but apparently it's all way too much and I shouldn't be taking any according to him. After him looking over the papers I filled out and asking two questions for five minutes, he tried three times to get me out of the exam room and on my way. I was still trying to give him my medical issues and history. He cut my medication extremely and added others that have very serious side effects, especially for people with psychological issues like I have. I am now in even more intense pain. He put me on a pain med contract, which I intend to follow for the thirty… days we planned. After that I will not be seeing him again. I have zero confidence in this doctor.
