Dr. Marvin Brian Tankel, MD

Left me with a horrible mark on my back after removing a cyst, quite some time ago. Looks like it will never go away. Highly recommend that you avoid this guy.

Dr. Tankel is a kind caring person.

Nice guy, knows what he's doing, doesn't make you wait.

staff all they do is lie to people i wonder if the doctor knows this.thats why i found another doctor.

Until I found Dr. Tankel, I had a generally negative opinion of Dr. Tankel. He is a great doctor who always knows the most effective treatment for a problem. My husband and I have been going to him for many years and are highly satisfied. Only negative is long wait in thye office to see him but it is worth the inconvenience to be treated by someone who knows what he is doing.

I have nothing positive to say about Dr. Tankel or his staff. Be prepared to wait a long time to be seen even if you arrive of time. I had a 12:30p appointment and was not called into the examination room until 1:40p. I thought the doctor would enter, instead I could hear his conversation with another room adjacent to me. This has happened before as well and the staff is unapologetic. Next I feel like the doctor does not listen to your concerns. He put me on medication that clearly changed the pigmentation of my skin. When I told him he disregarded what I said. I researched the medication and found out that is one of the side effects so I am not crazy. Dr. Tankel isn't personable either and has a stoic bedside manner. I will not be returning.

I have been to him many times for complaints ranging from ecsema to cancer. He has always treated me with great skill and I have NO complaints. He is without doubt the best dermatologist I have ever gone to ( and I have been to many). I highly recommend him.

Dr volunteered little information...Cut off (talked over)one of my questions...I had to ask about results and follow-up

The waiting room was full. Everyone was annoyed that they had been waiting for 45+ minutes. One woman said that she had been going there for 6 years and each appointment was a minimum of 45 minutes after your appointment time. Mine was over an hour. I find this totally unacceptable, especially since most of the patients are elderly. Packing everyone in like sardines and making them sit there just waiting. The doctor needs to value everyone's time, he cannot triple and quadruple book appointments that he is never going to get to in a timely fashion. I will never subject myself to that type of waiting again.

Dr. Tankel has been treating me and my family for years.He is professional and very thorough. I have total confidence in his medical care. He is very good at explaining a difficult diagnosis without being an alarmist. I would not go to any other dermatologists on Long Island.
